As to your second point, you're right, most people do know this. But common sense is not common practice. Everybody KNOWS they should be eating healthy and exercising regularly. Seen any overweight people lately?

ok... I've never owned a product. And I know this is totally hijacking this thread....but I'd be interested in what you have to say about it.

This is a perfect way to diversify. If you're good at affiliate marketing in a certain niche, vertical integration makes perfect sense. If you develop a product and market it, now you have business equity.

What's to stop you, or any of us, putting together some type of supplement? You can manufacture it in Asia, setup drop shippers in US, get a call centre reps in Idia and start marketing a hell out of it. It's a different set of skills and knowledge you need to aquire. Besides for all we know, those acai pills maybe full of saw dust

Just because the American public knows that certain actions will result in negative consequences doesn't mean that we won't act that way.
