is it legal to copy and paste an entire article onto my site, place quotations around the entire thing and site it at the bottem?

i dont see how this could be considered plagarism, seeing as that its sited and quoted but i thought id ask before i do it and wind up with a hefty fine

It depends on the source. There are no defined standards as to how much content you can excerpt without infringing on the source's rights. Back in 2008, the Associated Press was suing anyone who copied any part of their articles, even if the copied part was in quotes.

If you copy from a blog, you are in a legal grey area. However, most blogs realize that they can't do much about their content being copied because copying is so rampant. So you have to decide on your risk vs reward.
