Pretty Cool Free Tool...Saves your eyes / better sleep

Checking it out as well. I always get blinded by my computer at night when I want to check on something quickly.

totally forgot to reinstall this after the format.
guys install this if your eyes hurt or your monitor is too bright at night, it's amazing!

Wow this is a pretty cool little tool. I really do have this problem and it looks like it will now be solved. Awesome.

Ooo love shit like this. Another great tool is Workrave. It basically reminds you to take breaks. Can even lock out the screen to force you to take a break. Tremendous difference as well at the end of the day. I often used to get headaches by the end of the day. After Workrave - no more!

I quite agree.
used Workrave and I have improved drastically my time management and productivity, so much that now I don't need this kind of applications, anymore.

Heh totally agree!! And for those wondering how it works. Here is my take. Ya know that sometimes you do something and you get all caught up in the details and little things? Well, when Workrave interrupts me, after a quick 30 second break, it kinda shifts my focus to the bigger picture. Not to say that the details aren't important, but sometimes they aren't. So ya, I definitely see a productivity increase with that tool as well. I still use it though, because otherwise I'll get caught up and forget to take a break. I like breaks :) I get snacks, walk around, stretch, check my car to make sure naughty bylaw didn't mark my tires with chalk :)

I use short breaks, about 3 minutes each half hour.
I walk, exercise my eyes and shoulders/arms, deep breathing.
Never drink or eat or watch tv during these short breaks.
Wait for the long breaks.

I don't see a problem with eating a few healthy snacks and drinking some water. I usually snack on a small piece of fruit or berries, or nuts/seeds. Occasionally a small square of a 85% dark chocolate.

holy shit Flux is amazing. i have burned my eyes out of my skull over the last 2 years. wish i'd had this the whole time.

i am in front of the big screen for about 12 hrs a day and i can physically feel a difference in my eye strain after using this for 1 day.

cant believe it's free. highly recommended.

I've been using F.lux for a few months now, it's awesome. Make sure to tinker with your settings, and using slow transition (instead of the default "fast") is way better.

I have been using f.lux for a while now. Great program. One thing to remember is that if you are doing screen capture video in camtasia, make sure you turn it off. I had to re-do a couple of videos because the color was off. :)
