Presidential Debate Part II

do not much about mormons, just know it's a popular sect in usa. in sects they put the sect above all including the laws, right? how can they even be governors, run for the pres??? mind is blown

From what I've read, you have to renounce your current citizenship to take on Paraguayan. Do you know otherwise?

If you intend on escaping US Taxation, yes. Otherwise no, you do not. However, depending on what your income is , if you choose to keep US citizenship , with a skilled CPA you can avoid paying taxes on your first $95k assuming you have lived in Paraguay for over 6 months of said fiscal year for which you are filing.

I have no intentions of renouncing my citizenship just yet. I mainly want an exit strategy for when TSHTF and we head into a full scale economic collapse. I'll take my chances with the campesino's in Paraguay over the hood rats in New Orleans any day!

Our political theatre is still pretty tame compared to the UK:

Australia's is pretty damn entertaining too.

In Paraguay, you're actually not that far from Cafayate, Argentina. If I am down there when the SHTF, maybe we can meet up.

All religions are sects.

However, Mormonism does seem to be the most batshit crazy sect I know of. Maybe not the most dangerous, but definitely the one with the most sheer lunacy built right into the core of it. I think you'll enjoy this:

define sect...but seriopusly luke you are wrong.
Sect: noun

1. a body of persons adhering to a particular religious faith; a religious denomination.

2. a group regarded as heretical or as deviating from a generally accepted religious tradition.

3. (in the sociology of religion) a Christian denomination characterized by insistence on strict qualifications for membership, as distinguished from the more inclusive groups called churches.

4. any group, party, or faction united by a specific doctrine or under a doctrinal leader.

So feel free to enlighten us how any religion you know of doesn't fit into any of these definitions, mkay?

I'm assuming you meant to type "USA" in there... Yes it's worse here but since I have lived outside the USA before and have traveled to over 40 countries so far, I feel pretty secure in my use of the word sect to describe all of the religions I've run across to date.

Of course I wouldn't call Buddhism and other philosophies a religion, too. I guess I draw the line at the need to believe in the supernatural, such as a skydaddy. That makes a person religious, and their religion by definition would be a sect.
