PPC niche tips for newbie? Tried several campaigns - stuck!

Hey guys,

In the recent past I've done some PPC with ringtones, health insurance, and car insurance, all to no avail (1 sale yay!). After doing more research, it seems like those are exactly the wrong niches to start with as a newbie (too competitive, few impressions, and I'm not advanced enough to crack those just yet).

Now, looking at some offers from the network I'm with, I see some things I'd like to promote, like weight loss products, a lot of interesting stuff.

My question is, though: Is something like weight loss for a newbie as difficult as insurance? If so, do you have any suggestions for a newbie to get started?

Should I perhaps focus on selling a few specific products? (like a few models of blueray players or whatever? (This would require me to find a different sponsor than my affiliate network though, since they only offer the 'standard' affiliate products)

Once I get some PPC campaign going where I just get enough impressions, I can take it from there - optimize ads, optimize landing pages, optimize keywords - but it's frustrating to see my campaigns 'running' and get very few impressions - not much to work with then! (it's probably partially because of the keywords, as I am a newbie ofcourse, but still...)

Thanks a lot for any response!

Dude, just try a bunch of different shit.

Some of the CPA stuff is a lot easier to convert. It's a lot easier to have someone enter their email address rather than their credit card.

Did you talk to your AM's? They're more likely to help you out than most of the people on this board. They have an interest in helping you make money, but the people on the board do not.

Good luck.

I'd advise against trying a 'bunch of shit'. If you drop $100 per niche over 5 niches your most likely going to lose $500 and not have enough info to turn any of them profitable.

It's unlikely your going to make money off the bat, choose a niche, research the shit out of it, then try. If it doesn't work at least you'll know where you fucked up, and make the changes to be profitable. Track and analyze, don't spread yourself too thin in the beginning.

Yea adding Diet would win you the highly competitive offer quadfecta.

Something nichie with lower CPC may give you a little more margin for trial and error. Some gurus to end your trial if you don't make a sale by the time your costs have reached twice the payout amount.

I am having the same difficulties. Obviously you have to have a big budget to promote a product in a saturated market. What about lower payout offers like e-mail/zip submit offers. How can you profit from these? My only guess is the content network which I have had no luck with.
