PPC, more efficient to learn than seo in the long term?

My whole goal in IM is to have income streams that are passive and semi-passive, so I can travel whenever I want, and I can do whatever offline business I want with the IM income as a cushion. SEO is better for that, because if you're willing to invest a lot of time at the beginning, eventually you do achieve those income streams. And you can let those ones keep rockin while you build new ones. PPC requires a lot more monitoring, and it seems to me that you can never really build a longterm base with it because most campaigns run dry after a while.

I want to do more PPC at some point so I can make bigger money. But I want SEO as my base.

SEO isn't sex, you're not supposed to fucking enjoy it. SEO is more like masturbation actually, it's really just something that has to be done. It's good at the end when you're finished but the actual process is kind of depressing and boring.

Thanks for sig

this seems subjective and unsubstantiated and out of context

And as a link seller you have a completely unbiased opinion, right?

Lol -you are witty.

No one was writing a McKinsey White Paper - if you want footnoted data check the Direct Marketing Association's website.

Enjoy your day....

with ppc you can test landing pages as soon as your adword ads get approved

with seo you'll need to rank for a keyword and probably be in the top 3 placements to get decent amount of traffic. then you'll need to see if they convert OR if there's any traffic for that keyword. Most keyword tools lie so you'll need to be careful when ranking for keywords w/out doing a ppc campaign

ppc campaigns give fresh/live data

you should ALWAYS build a ppc campaign BEFORE doing SEO

PPC is probably the BEST option for keyword research

another great thing about ppc is that they are placed higher than organic listings...and have been receiving a lot more clicks since G has been optimizing their search pages so MORE PEOPLE will click on them

Are you accusing me of having a biased opinion that's biasing my opinion that your assertion was biased, or is that just your opinion?

All I want is some objective proof that Google only accounts for 6% of a site's traffic that isn't framed up like an email I immediately MARK as spam in my InBoX and then I'll be quiet.

Don't build a business based on anything that's "free". At least when you are paying for traffic, your (traffic) supplier feels some obligation towards you.

SEO = is for free
PPC = costs money (a lot of money) :)
Nothing is free. Opportunity costs.

People who say SEO is free traffic have never done SEO (and don't understand economics). They do not know what they are talking about.

alot of guys do ppc exclusively. but in my experience the niche has to be spot on for it to really work. pharmacy is a great example of what kills if you can get in

Completely agree with you... have lots of affiliates making a lot of $$$ with PPC campaigns.

Cheers!

Stop posting on the forum, and spend your time updating your new site. Nothing new since the 25th equals disappointment.

Do both. Use them to help each other out. Find out what you are good at. Get Bucks.

For me SEO has always been "easier." Many people will tell you the exact opposite. I have been doing both for around 10 years. I have never had a problem ranking "naturally" through SEO. And for the most part I can pretty much "set and forget" a lot of sites. I know people who swear by fresh content, but I have sites from like 2002 that have ranked since around 2004 for money terms and haven't been touched, maybe get a new link here and there. It might help that I focus on niches that I see as more long-term ( though technology changes the specific products and how services are provided, the niche remains the same) and a little more "high end" than dick pills or whatever people tend to chase.

I find PPC good for information. Sometimes it is good to be a buyer, sometimes a seller, sometimes both in the same or different things. For example, with Google sometimes I make more money buying Adwords to send affiliate traffic. Other times I make more money with organic traffic and Adsense.

A lot of different factors, and either way there is a certain amount of monitoring and picking up on things.

^ Spot on . PPC is more of like a quick fling. Get in, get your load off (get money), get out. SEO is the long term one you take home to meet the parents.
