Political Compass

Right and left is a false paradigm. On the far right, you have Hitler, on the far left you have Stalin.

In the center, you have nearly every western politician from Bush to Obama.

Turbo, I thought you were supposed to be a flaming lib?

Heh. I may be liberal but I'm NO democrat.

That's why I wanted to revisit this again. There are alot of misunderstandings on this forum. I would say this forum is predominately Libertarian first and foremost but there are alot of really right and authoritarian members around that pull the wool over your eyes by screaming about their hate for Obama, which is brilliant if you think about it. They probably hate obama because he's a democrat and they are a staunch republican. The libertarians hate him because he's big government. So the republicans are going to use that to their advantage to try to get back into power. DON'T LET PULL THE WOOL OVER YOUR EYES.

To quote Ron Paul "We don't have a two party system, we have a one party system Both parties endorse the welfare state and corporatism and both support interventionism overseas"

The sooner that people start to realize that democrat and republicans are both wrong for government, the better off this country will be.

hellblazer, your results fall in line with what your beliefs are that I've seen from your posting, and I don't mean that as a knock

Last time I took this I was probably more center. I'll have to see if I can find an older thread.
The world's too fucked up to hope things will sort themselves out.

From 2007's thread:

Any politician with any understanding of how the world works must support so called "interventionism overseas". Isolationism is incompatible with growth, or even maintaining parity. Eventually the world comes knocking on your door, whether you like it or not.

no they don't. isolationism is not the same as refusing to be in entangling alliances or starting wars. you can still trade with other countries without being interventionist

Turbo is definitely a libertarian.

This is why I like them all and like them all about the same. They need status quo fags like me to get elected.
Right, but they are center authoritarian. In many cases, they don't reflect your libertarian values. Remember, these two axises are combined, but don't actually have any relevance to one another, since Stalin would be at the top left, and Hitler at the top right, and yet that would mean the mainstream political spectrum, is actually 100% authoritarian.

No clue what any of this means, I just answered the questions. Can somebody explain my political stance, or whatever the fuck this is?

I hate quoting these huge graphics. Those are just more lousy charts.

Fascism and Communism are forms of socialism. Neo-Liberalism is not the opposite of Communism. It's nonsensical as neo-liberalism is also a form of socialism.

The difference between authority and liberty is property. All politicians seek control over property, and thus all politicians are authoritarians of some degree. Whether they are fascists or socialists, the end is the same. Control of someone else's property.

Libertarians believe property is private, and not subject to the political means of control. That is, 10 of my neighbors can't vote to take away my car for another use. Only I can choose to volunteer my car, or those 10 can pool their resources to purchase it from me, but if they take it under threat of violence (taxation) that is unjust. That is a tyranny of the majority, which is what all democracy basically resolves to, 50% plus one vote can send Jews to ovens. It all depends on how people feel that day, rights and ethics be damned.

I very rarely selected strongly agree/disagree so I guess that is why it is so close to the middle.

See, this is exactly the kind of idiocy people come up with when they feel threatened by the complexity of the world and try to reduce into a simple Utopian formula.
