This was taken earlier this year of my Blue Doberman Pinscher. The pic was taken through a glass door by one of my siblings, so it looks a little weird.

He's about 5'9" when he stands up on his hind legs. Every bird, cat and squirrel in the neighborhood fear him, not to mention most people and their lame dogs. He's only 5 years old, and I miss him whenever I go away. It's actually pretty amusing to walk him and see people scurry and cross to the other side of the street.

Handsome fella there! Does he have a good regular park place to play in the Big Apple? Central?

He lives at my folk's house, and they live in an area with a lot of trees and grass.. Although he has one favorite tree which happens to be on the lawn of a neighbor, and they once said something until he barked at them, and now just avoid us like the plague. Sucks for them.

What a beast! Are dobermens or german shepherds smarter as a breed?

Dobies are one of the most intelligent and loyal breeds around. My dog understands tons of words and full sentences even. There are some words we can't even spell out in front of him because he knows what they mean.

Theres a guy in the uk who is paid £10 to kill racing greyhounds once they get to old for racing anymore, around 2-4 years old i think. There was pictures of him in the paper walking with wheelbarrows of like 5 dogs on top of eachther then he buries them in his garden. I think he got done for not paying tax and hunted by the anti cruelty people. Lol dont know why i brung that up..

I miss my doggy, he was a hound, not sure what kind looked like a beagal(sp) but with legs, (pointer?) anyways I live in a gated village and could walk out my front door, take a random path and a half mile to a mile from my front door leave a biscuit and then let beaugart out of the house an hour after I got back home. The damn dog would run right to the biscuit! poor thing was dumber than dirt though!

Oh, I think they all understand us more than they want to let on.
Our oldest mutt is dumber than dog shit, really, but he knows what we're saying when we spell things out to each other (you know, "did you take the dogs O.U.T?" "No" "OK - dogs! Lets go out!" type of thing).
So even the dumb ones can spell ;) Scary!

beautiful dog man. I had a huge male Dalmation "Sammy Boy" that dog was like one of my kids! We even shared the same birthday. After he whent I never got another.

I prefer rottweilers and grew up w/German Shepherds. I would vote for Rots for smarts. Had a great yellow lab, she was pretty smart, protective, yet a great family dog.

My Rot was a sweetheart, but nobody believed it. Tried to put a pic in, but it didn't work. Here's his little memorial in my blog.

My mom and dad had a sherpherd that you couldn't spell "frisbee" around unless you were ready to play! Dogs are smart, do you think they will rule the world someday like the apes in "Planet of the Apes"??

Nice dog Jon. I've got a golden retriever myself, she's my constant companion, follows me around everywhere and has tons of energy.

I'm automatically suspicious of people who don't like dogs.

Do people really cross the street from dogs like that?

I've seriously walked up to pit bulls growling at me and tried to pet them--they naturally try to rip my arm off, but I'm too quick for them. ;)

I have a 4 month old Yorkie, I blame it on the gf. But she's cute, pretty smart (not compared to my lab) and is basically a little rat. Too bad she was up from 11:45-3am last night, damn bitch.

Your pretty hard on your girlfriend. :1orglaugh:

That's amazing! My parent's dog has never caught onto W A L K even. I want one, gimme gimme! How much did he cost? You have to make sure he knows your boss right, so how do you accomplish that Jon?
