So I was seeing wat crock of shit Joel Comm had been brewing up, so I checked out his blog and saw this post: My Space 4 Parents
About this apparently is a must-by book which show you how to uncover the secrets of MySpace!
What a load of crap!

All the book does (no i didn't buy it, i just looked at the sales page) is tell people how to do the basic functions on myspace; reading comments and such.

This is just my own little rant on people fillin the net with shit and selling it to suckers. :xomunch:

I'm jumping on the bandwagon. The internet is indeed filled to the ceiling with shit, sometimes it's closer than you think!

*hint*

It may seem like a shitty book to us but I know lots of people that have no clue what to do when it comes to the internet. My father is an engineer, by no means a stupid person, but when it comes to the internet he has no clue. Why is it such a bad idea to market these types of books to people like him?

If you're smart enough to find an eBook about MySpace, buy it etc...arent u smart enough to look at MySpace Help Files??? And he makes it sound like MySpace was created by the Devil....he's a fkin moron.

@CaptainCommunis - this forum is about freedom of speech, so if you don't like my rant, then please stay out of my threads.

Isn't that contradictory? You're saying the forum is about freedom of speech then meantion in the latter to stay out of your threads. So much for freedom of speech!

and thats wat was really pissin - there are no "secrets of myspace" (i'd forgotten that was the point of my thread :P) - all these "secrets" are easily accessible on the MySpace website.

I still rather would write a book that doesn't lie to it's customers, and provides value - thats more important that a quick buck imo

I highly agree. There are millions of people still do not know about myspace or any internet related stuff like we do. Good for Joel that he is making money from it, all power to him. We are sitting here while he is making money from it. So go write a book, get it published, start making money.

Well the point of the e-book or the various other e-books aren't really about the concept of the e-book, An e-book is basically for people who dont have the time to do their own research or they simply do not want to do their own research.

Take the all the adsense tips e-books that litter the internet. Yes people could come here and read through hours of threads or go to DP and read through hours of threads and try to compile their own list of tips and hints. But when people compile all of these in an ebook they are not marketing ( or shouldnt market) that the ebook is hidden secrets , but they should market as we have compiled a complete list of <subject tips and hints>! I think that is why ebooks sell so well is that people are to damn lazy to do their own research. So they are more than happy to pay 9.99 to 200.00 for an ebook depending on the subject and how much time it will save them.

"where to look if you suspect that your house is being used as Party Central" sounds important!
