PAYING TILL IT HURTS: As Hospital Prices Soar, a Stitch Tops $500

Yeah by making sure that you'll have to pay 60% tax's like in Canada... The money has to come from somewhere, he and everyone else can keep living in their fantasy world that you don't have to worry about it and keep giving health insurance away for free or highly subsidizing it. But sooner or later the costs are going to need to get paid.

For having lived/worked in both Canada and the US, I can tell you that the tax rates are pretty damn close in both countries. Barely noticed a difference when I was working down there.

The only difference is the way tax monies are being spent. In Canada most of it goes to the healthcare system. In the US most of it goes to the Military. Look at this graph and ask yourself: is it really necessary to spend this much policing the world?

You can just superglue your cut shut, you dont need to fucking go Hannibal on yourselves.....then slap a sponge bob band aid on it and your money .

Check out this urgent care center in Hollywood. Their prices are reasonable:

Hollywood Walk-In Clinic - Services

This guy runs a surgery center that doesn't accept insurance and the rates are unbelievably low. Here's his blog:

G. Keith Smith, M.D.

I hope MORE and MORE of these types of places open up..

Gives the people a CHOICE.

Right now you can't even boycott places, they are all the same and won't tell you upfront prices. But add in some of these places and it's going to create much needed competition.

I think they'll start increasing when people realize how expensive Obamacare will really be. People will start to shop around. That Hollywood center has almost 200 reviews on Yelp and it's highly rated.

You can also get deals by paying cash. This is an illuminating article from the LA Times:

Reasponable is an understatement.

I had a Pilonidal cyst at the top of my ass. Worst pain I have ever felt. Went to the ER to get it taken care of (dear god the smell), in and out in 30 minutes. Got a bill for nearly 5 grand. That clinic will do it for a few hundred? Shit, I'll drive to Hollywood next time I need it taken care of.

Had it come back and ended up doing it myself with some weed and an exacto knife.

Watch this (3:00)...during dinner

$5,000 to do that. Fuck off.

Exactly. And when the costs are realized from Obamacare in the next 1-2 years, the money will have to come from somewhere and where do you think that will be? Giving healthcare away for free and highly subsidizing healthcare by the federal government, will only result in higher taxes. This together with the soaring national debt if not corrected, will ultimately have long lasting consequences.

Here is an interesting article from 2012 by CBS.

National Debt has increased more under Obama than under Bush - CBS News

Interestingly enough when Obama got into office the national debt was around 10 trillion dollars, currently it is over 17 trillion dollars. Legislators and lawmakers keep postponing the inevitable, without making any real cuts and changes. And the can is only going to be able to be kicked along so much, when countries no longer want to loan the US money. And ultimately what you are seeing currently in Detroit - where years of rampant spending with no fiscal control in place, ultimately lead the city with nowhere to turn.

Of course Obama blamed the proceeding president for all his problems "Mr. Obama has been quick to blame his predecessor for the soaring Debt, saying Mr. Bush paid for two wars and a Medicare prescription drug program with borrowed funds."

But lets see, part of the rising national debt levels was due in part to a Medicare prescription drug plan. Hmm.... What do you think will be the result of the Affordable care act and subsidized or free insurance given away?

Yep, this is true in a lot of cases. I fell face first on concrete once and my friends (two of which were medical professionals) were trying to drag me to the ER for stitches and xrays. I insisted we go to Wal-Mart instead. I got a few weird looks due to the fact that my face and neck were covered in blood and I was holding a bunch of paper towels against my chin to stop the worst of the bleeding...but it only took $15-20 in supplies to handle it. Unfortunately, there was no cheap alternative for the dental work needed after that fall.

You can get medical grade super glue, e.g., Dermabond, on eBay.

I carry a packet of Quikclot Combat Gauze with me in my pack. It will stop traumatic bleeding.

Exactly. And when the costs are realized from Obamacare in the next 1-2 years

Actualization of cost will be 5-10 years from now since consumers will adjust their lifestyle accordingly.

Short term, everyone hits the doctor every time something is wrong because the yearly deductible is all they can afford.

Longer term, young adults will become more reckless resulting in more trauma (and more hospital costs) ... it's just like seatbelt laws, only this time the unintended consequences will wreck havoc on our economy and not just kill a couple street walkers.

... will only result in higher taxes.

errr, money printing happens first because it's only indirect theft. 1/1000 people recognize the crime.

... This together with the soaring national debt if not corrected, will ultimately have long lasting consequences.

You can't correct a spending problem with increased revenue no more than you can kick a cocaine addiction with a mountain of power.

... And the can is only going to be able to be kicked along so much, when countries no longer want to loan the US money. ...

Tax rates are not the reason countries won't want our currency, taxes can't inflate away real value, the FED magic does.

The US government spends more per capita on military, but they also do on health care. Canada is making up the difference by spending more on higher education, the arts, and whatever else.

According to this from 2011, the Canadian government employed over 20% of the labor force vs. about 16% for the US.

Government Expenditures on Culture, 2009-10 | Hill Stratégies

"On a per-capita basis, spending on culture by all levels of government was $301 per Canadian in 2009-10."

Medicare 2011 = $554 billion
Medicaid 2011 = $408 billion
total = $962 billion

We use superglue, duct tape / whatever around here. The problem is that people are pussies. And these pussies all have insurance. Insurance that can be billed for any amount.

A stitch should cost no more than $1, stitched up.

Insurance for health care is a dumb idea. It should only be used for MAJOR surgery.

" Entering an emergency room without insurance is..."
...the Gop Head's "Health Care Plan".

BTW, health care expenses are down & the ACA costs are less than originally projected!

Fucking Progressives!
