AIR means the s/w would run on both Windows and Mac but be rather sluggish, and it takes a longer time to develop.

.NET means Windows only, easier to develop with and s/w doesn't seem sluggish. Downside is more people use a Mac now.

Opinions?
 


Use mono, you can stick with .NET but run the app on a OSX and Linux.

Edit: and if you are thinking of doing an iPad/iPhone app mono can compile C# code to native iOS http://xamarin.com/monotouch (xamarin is the Corporate front of the mono open source project)


I don't see Adobe going the distance with Air.

anyone in IM that uses a mac will figure out how to run a windows app with either a different machine, dual boot, or a VM

AIR sucks balls, way way way too slow for anything useful
