I wanted to see if I could do something to at least say that I have taken some action. I kinda stole someone else idea on crab cakes to see if this would work. I really do enjoy crab cakes though. lol I put together a site on Blogger.com. I wrote two recipes that I had and got from my family. I added ADSENSE. I actually have gotten nineteen(19) impressions today and one(1) click so far! = .02 I plan on adding more recipes in the next day or so, some content on "All About Crabs" for interest.

My question is what next to drive more traffic to my site. However, I would like for you guys(and gals) to look around, give me some ideas to drive traffic. thanks

This is my first project. I haven't done any keywords or anything, I just set this up. I am sure I did some steps out of order, but hey, I wanted to get my feet wet.

The site is Crab Cakes Heaven

I read Jon's PPC stuff. Really good. I think I will be implementing some of what he has suggested. Interesting, didn't realize that I was doing some of what he was suggesting

Now just replicate that blog with different recipes 10,000-100,000 times.

Wow I guess I will be a millionaire in no time with that advice. Seriously, the project while it may or may not be wildly successful, I just wanted to show myself (and others) that it is possible to take anything and make some money.
I showed the two cents that I made to my sister and she just looked at me. But, than I explained my thinking and that if I could replicate this with multiple sites, then the money will begin to flow.

One question.... WTF are crab cakes?

I like chocolate cakes and hash cakes are always good.... but crab cakes? Sounds fishy to me!

Maybe put some pics on there for people like me who think crab cakes are some kind of seafood related bakery!

Wow!! At first, I was like,"what planet are you from?" But, than I noticed that you are from the UK. So, that explains everything. Crab cakes are actually patties. Depending on the recipe, they can be fried or chilled. I tend to like the fried versions. I guess I can put this question on my site for others who have no idea as to what a crab cake is like you.

fucken crab cakes...................i love that shit......

way think outta the box by stealing an idea, but fuck it

i would say get some pics on there of grandma and some crab cakes and your set.......i like the personal style

when writing content for a content site it's best to write in a personal style, just like you demonstrate.....become and actor and become the person thats making the crabcakes, all hot and fresh..................yeah i dont know what crabcakes are but i know crab legs would be something you would target here in the states........oh another fucken idea off your stolen idea:bowdown: thanks mate! gotta go:D check my keyword tools................

Damn, I am gonna have to start a freakin distribution company to share with all of you uninitiated as to what crab cakes are. Wow! Who wouldve thunk it? I just took for granted that everyone knew what crab cakes were. Gonna have to add a post as to what a crab cake is.

I'm a foodie and fan of crab cakes too. Isn't there some affiliate program for gourmet foods you can join? Post their crab cake products on the blog. Pictures, need pictures for food.

Talk about what wines go good with crabs and crab cakes too. I prefer a nice reisling myself.

To be honest, I was just being - what's the word - fesecious? (sp?) We have fish cakes over here - same sort of thing I guess. (Though fish cakes are kinda what ya get if ya can't afford/don't want a whole fish from a fish 'n' chip shop)

Are recipes really that popular though? I've seen a lot of arbi sites based on them - so I guess they are - but there are loads of decent free resources for recipes too... I assume part of it is the people looking for recipes probably aren't the most internet-savvy peeps out there - so they'll happily click on your ppc ads, then on ads on your pages.

Hey, that might just be .02, but it's .02 you didn't have before. :)

I recommend doing what Andrew suggested. Just build a ton of free blogs all focusing on a different kind of recipe. For example, make 100 blogs, all with about 3 or 4 recipes each.

Load them up with Adsense. If you only make $1 a day per blog, that's $100 a day which is some decent cash for something so simple.

I know, from experience, that free blogs can make some coin... and the important thing to remember is STRENGTH IN NUMBERS. The more blogs, the better.

Good luck man!

Hey, that .02 means alot to me. I think it is an achievement. From my lurking and knowing people in general; it's more than many will ever make in their Internet Marketing endeavors.
As for monitizing blogs, I am way ahead of you. I am already thinking of other niches that I can capitalize upon. Last night at work I was writing articles and looking through recipes to add to my blog.
The next step is to do some SEO which I got from Aaron Wall's book, SEOBOOK.
Also, I am learning to use Dreamweaver. At some point I am gonna want to create my own websites.

Aaron's book is good. I also recommend this newsletter (not an aff. link) to anyone interested in up to date SEO information from a marketer's mindset.

I've been a subscriber since 2001 and it's like having an SEO researcher around to test out things for you. Well worth the subscription. I actually look forward to getting it every month. Hate to sound like such a pimp but it has literally saved me untold hours with their advice.
