OH SHIT DO I GO WITH WEBAIR OR LIQUIDWEB? FUCK FUCK FUCK

I haven't used WiredTree support for atleast 6 months. I had an issue today integrating SendGrid and I was back and forth with WiredTree support all day. They don't know shit! Once my site outgrows my current server and I think I will jump ship to LiquidWeb.

I've used Webair for most of the past decade. Support has always rocked for me. I can chat with them at 3am and have them take a look at something for me with no problems. We have dedicated, virtual AND cloud solutions with them.

I have a second cloud solution at Joyent that's definitely a different kind of expensive but it's for different purposes (node.js & etc). I'll still say that overall for the price I don't think you can really beat Webair.

Knownhost are top notch! Awesome support and virtually zero down time for the last couple of years we have hosting with them! I had the god fortune to pick them first and i think i will stick with them for a long time :)

I like liquidweb, except for their new smart vps... my old standard vps boxes outperform my smartvps with double the specs, among other setup issues.

I run others companies still to this day, and would recommend knownhost as well. Been with them for years. Occasionally they bring in new outsourced support staff that are dumb as bricks, but I've only had to scream (make a thread on WHT whereby a manager emailed me within the hour and resolved my issue) for a tier 3 tech one time. Ever since then my requests have been handled on par.

Wiredtree is good as well... not the greatest if you're having performance issues and need help (my experience only of course), but a solid host nonetheless.

Finally, I tried out Unixy for a very specific purpose and have been very satisfied. The owner is super knowledgeable and quick to jump on any problem. And, if you're making an unreasonable request, they are straight up and don't give you bullshit answers. If you run anything resource intensive and need caching, I would HIGHLY recommend them, specifically to run their Varnish plugin. (great for wordpress sites, large sites, autoblogs, etc... I'm not sys admin in any capacity, and they know how to tweak like a mother fucker)

I've had a dedicated box with webair for close to a decade it seems, I've had my software hacked, not their fault, it was a problem with a script called Comus Thumbs.

They have always gone the extra mile, if I needed something done to use a new script, they did it fast. The live chat feature rocks. I'm friends with Gerard.

Most of the people that will bash them are using too much script on too little a package I think.

Now when I set up a new website for someone, I always get them to use Webair, their interface is just too easy

I've got a dedicated server on LW and have been very happy with them for the past year - fantastic uptime and support.

I moved from Rackspace, after I had repeated downtime with them and they blamed my sites (a bunch of WP installs).

For the month of August 2010, there were 16 downtimes for me on Rackspace for a total of 4 hours, 35 minutes, and 3 seconds, according to pingdom.com.
