Awesome idea. Nothing better than getting Ron Paul some first page spots in the SERPS. I'd propose minisites on each of Paul's "competitors" ex truthaboutromney.com to rank for "mitt romney" and expose them for their hypocrisy. Link the dissociated voters to Ron Paul.

google newt gingrich and instead get edumecated about the federal reserve
good stinkin'

the dude supports school prayers. nuff said.

yeah, i know being against thought crime makes liberals uncomfortable.

"Paul has sponsored a constitutional amendment which would allow students to pray privately in public schools, but would not allow anyone to be forced to pray against their will or allow the state to compose any type of prayer or officially sanction any prayer to be said in schools."

I've read, listened to, and watched A LOT of Ron Paul stuff, and I've never hear him say this. Source pls. or GTFO.

From a libertarian perspective, as long as my freedom doesn't infringe upon yours, it's ok. School prayer would infringe upon non Christian beliefs, therefore not ok, which is why I have a hard time buying this.

On another note, we're going to have another call tonight if anyone is interested. For those curious about what we're doing, PM me and I'll give you the details.

Couldn't make the call, but I still think Google TV ads on Fox News are #1 for reaching old voters.

This is true, as well as good old fashioned knocking on the doors of Super Voters (which you can get from your county registry.) Our local RP group ran around $1200 worth of TV spots last time around with money raised locally using Chip In. I think it does have an effect. I'm hoping RP really starts pushing TV ads hard this time around as I think he has the money to do so.

However, a couple things to consider:
1) Older super voters are dying off. We're left with our parents generation which is more likely to use the interwebs because baby boomers are still working. I can tell you, if my Mom manages cruise around FB and Google, then there are a lot of Moms doing so.

2) The idea of this project isn't just to reach people searching on Google. If you want to know more, PM me.

am not american but just asking out of curiousity. Is this OK to advertise or promote a poilitcal campaign of presidental stature without the politician knowing about it?

What if your campaign backfires? is he going to pay the price because you wanted to help him out and it didnt work the way you thought?

I know you all have good intention but has anyone ever thought of consequences of this campaign if at all?

Usually in asia for example, no one would bother to promote a party or politician without their consensus or support for the very reason that its need to be documented and you have to keep track of the expenses. am not sure of how it works in USA? so it would be interesting if someone can enlighten me?

Sure you can promote anyone you want. If you look at how even the big parties operate, they have local groups which do door to door campaigns. The Republican party in my county is run by the Republican Executive Committee which does community wide campaigns both for local, state and national candidates. And while they do communicate with the state party, they have their own rules and regulations and are essentially autonomous.

Ron Paul has historically been supported by grassroots efforts. Up until the last few months of the last Republican primary, grassroots meetup groups ran autonomously with little input or help from his national campaign. However, he was very much in favor of our efforts and would come to local events when he was in town.

An individual can only give $2500 to the official campaign ($5000 per married couple), but there are no laws to my knowledge that prohibit you from spending your own money on other things like signs or advertising.

Just joined the group. Been a lurker for years and in the industry for about nine years, and this is the first thing on this god-forsaken website I can feel good about participating in.

Get 1 Christian to believe Ron Paul is God-sent and they'll spread the word themselves.

FORGET the negative hype against his competitors and do some checking on that strategy. Its counter-productive and almost universal from state elections to national elections that the candidate that gets the most attention, whether its positive OR negative, wins.

just sayin

Seriously? 0/10 troll

Who gives a shit if he likes prayers in school. There are MUCH bigger fish to fry in this country(economy, foreign aid, five unjustified wars, depreciating GDP) than kids asking God for favors. Get over it and join the effort or gtfo kiddo.

 DANGER, lol

The FEC considers "anything of value given to influence a federal election" as a donation. A group spending over $1,000 is suppose to register as a PAC and then follow the rules that pertain to them.

Hi guys,

I'm not looking to co-opt this idea or anything. I was actually just going to make a post regarding this but I noticed this thread first, thankfully.

I am currently Director of Marketing for a group called Ron Paul Club. I am attempting to recruit a team of online marketers to help with our projects. I know many people here are friendly to Ron Paul's cause so I thought some of you may be interested in helping.

Ron Paul Club was formed by a group of well known grass-root activists. We have members who come from a variety of backgrounds including lawyers, media people, entrepreneurs, etc. We have already built an infrastructure that can do precisely what the OP suggested. All legalities have been taken care of. We have even formed a PAC to keep legal with fundraising and donations. The PAC is a separate entity formed to help coordinate our grass-roots efforts. Our sole purpose is to get Ron Paul elected in 2012.

Ron Paul Club is 100% volunteer. No one in the club is getting paid for their services; however, there are various other for-profit ventures that members of the club are involved in. You can find more about those if you join. I believe our PAC will also have paid positions.

If you are sincere in wanting to use your valuable marketing skills to help Ron Paul win this year, please PM me or email me. I want to build a solid team of people to help the cause. The benefit of working with us is that we have already created an infrastructure that allows for us to do this all legally. We also have a great team put together already. We have researchers, writers, programmers, media people, marketers, fundraisers, etc. We are only lacking in the online marketing department, a problem that I am hoping to solve with this post :)

Lets put our skills to use this year. I hope to be working with some of you very soon. Please PM me if you are interested in joining. You don't have to fill out the application on the website - I will get you in. If you want to email me, my email is patrickwarner at gmail dot com. If you do not want to join our efforts and wish to do something yourself, I wish you the best of luck! The country needs Ron Paul elected in 2012.

I could definitely see this being an issue if we were taking donations and appreciate the info.

That being said, we made a lot of signs out of flex board and spray paint last primary season (maybe even $1000 worth, although I'm not sure) and didn't receive a single call from the FEC trying to tracking us down. I see this as similar.

This actually works very well. If you can convince a religious family member to vote for RP, then they will take care of the rest themselves.

First off, I am a supporter of Ron Paul and his campaign. It was stated in this thread that he is more well known now then in 2008. Google Trends might show a slightly different story.
