Obama supports plan for mosque near ground zero

I'm willing to bet if you were to pull some hard facts on the number of mosques producing terrorist proteges are easily outnumbering all other religious groups combined, 10-1.

That's a fact. I don't care what you liberals say sure priests rape people whatever. Fact is we aren't getting on planes with bombs, plain and fucking simple.

So shutting down Mosques in the US and most other NATO/UN countries, and maybe even treating a religious group as a whole as enemies of the state is going to reduce the number of bombs showing up in our country or planes?

Can someone get me what he's smoking?

Game over, close the thread. No need to continue. LotsOfZeros just busted out a statistical fact for you all.

Don't worry man, no need to cite the source on that statistic. The fact that you are willing to bet on it is good enough for me.

...to be fair, his "bet" wasn't exactly unrealistic.

Hahahahahaha.

No when the hell did I say that? Youretrying to bash Christianity to "level out the playing field". Fine, you bring up Christianity's violent past, all I am doing is talking about religions as they stand now. Sure my religion might have priests that are rapists and that's bad I'm not justifying their actions, I'm simply stating if you're going to bring up allllll the religions, it is quite fucking obvious unless you won't admit it to yourself where the violence is coming from (I'll help you out, it's coming from the Muslims). Again that's a fact, look at all acts of terrorism by size in the last ten years, and let me know their religion.

BO and all of those in favor of this mosque being on the grave yard of ground zero are not doing so in the name of religious freedom.

I ask all you that are for this move in the name of freedom look into the facts. Read some. Look into the players and their association with the President, his advisors and imediate circle.

Do you know who Rashid Khalidi is? Do you know who the Imam is that is behind this whole mess ( Feisal Abdul Rauf )? Did you know that this very Imam has called for Sharia in the US? Do you know that this administration is sending him to the middle east in a few weeks on the tax payer dole to help "relations"?

There is more to this mosque than meets the eye and BO and his fools are balls deep in it.

If this Imam was so worried about relations with the west then he would move this mosque somewhere else and off of the grave yard of more than 3000 Americans that were slaughtered by the hand of islam. Moving this mosque because of the insensitive area that it is in would prove to me this Imam's sensitivity to the west more than anything else he could do.

It's a few blocks away, not "on the grave yard of ground zero". In fact, it's an old Burlington Coat Factory.

But don't let that fact get in your way. Carry on.

BTW, one of my old friends was molested in his home by a catholic preist when he was 11 years old. I just heard that they are planning to build a new church across the street from his house... INSANE, RIGHT?! We should all go protest.

This. A lot of people are pissed about this being built where it is. Whether it's justified or not I'm not here to argue. But common sense would tell you if their ultimate goal was to better our relations there are better ways to do it than pissing millions of people off. To me it seems like they're just trying to spit in our faces.

Why do you conclude that the religion is to blame for the acts of terrorism? These folks have a lot more in common (socioeconomic issues, massive political issues, etc) than only a religion.

Is Islam being used as a scapegoat to avoid focusing on the real issues driving (albeit a very, very small minority) of people to become violent?

I challenge anyone to spend some time in the Middle East and not come to the conclusion that the overwhelming majority of people living there are truly good, nonviolent people.

Hopefully the movement by the mainstream Muslim world to disassociate themselves with the radicals takes root... 99.9999% of these men and women don't deserve the image that is being portrayed of them.

Murder is worse than molestion clown.

Yea the sympathizers (or at least cowards) defend their violence comparison between Islam and Christianity by throwing in the Crusades. I really get a fuckin belly laugh out of that one.

Not only did the Crusades happen a thousand years ago but they were also a defensive war against the encroaching muslims.

ANYONE with ANY intellectual honesty knows that muslims are the group of people out mutilating little girls faces and cutting the heads of the non believers. I did however have a Jehova Witness knock on my door last week for a whole 45 seconds. It was VERY irratating.

They have found and continue to find bone fragments all over that area. So yes I and millions of other Americans will consider it a grave yard.

Speaking at a White House dinner celebrating Ramadan Obama framed the issue as one of religious freedom.

I love irony. The Bamster's approval rating is dropping faster than Acai commissions.
From the NYTimes:
In hosting the iftar, Mr. Obama was following a White House tradition that, while sporadic, dates to Thomas Jefferson, who held a sunset dinner for the first Muslim ambassador to the United States. President George W. Bush hosted iftars annually.

So George W. was also balls deep in it? Abdul Rauf took his first trip on behalf of the State Dept in 2007. In 07 he visited the UAE, Bahrain, Qatar and Morocco for the same reasons as this trip. Don't see what it has to do with Obama - these trips are clearly not tied to any specific administration. The State Dept is doing a good job with these sorts of programs. This is the sort of outreach we need to help better our image and help prevent future incidents.

Whether the prejudice is justified or not I don't care but I can offer you a reason as why people associate bombs with Muslims. Look at thr Catholics and all the jokes spewed about them and their priests being rapists. Now I'm sure it's similar to the Muslim number of bombers who kill in the male of religion. Is it right? No. But that's why it happens. If there were ten priests teaching molestion is ok the entire religion would get a bad rep, much in the same way a few bad apples within the Muslim religion kill for their religion.

Which is worse? I hope you liberals can answer that question yourself.

everyone who is upset at Feisal Abdul Rauf for building this center near the wtc site, you can get on twitter and question them - Park 51 (Park51) on Twitter

I asked them if they thought the people who stoned adulterers in Iran went to heaven or hell and they said they went to heck - lol?

when then asked if the U.S. deserved the attacks, Rauf answered: "I wouldn’t say that the United States deserved what happened. But the United States’ policies were an accessory to the crime that happened.".

some muslims (Stephen Suleyman Schwartz) also oppose the project.

I wonder how much "fund raising" for his mosque he will be conducting on this trip of peace. A Imam that advocates Sharia in America does not respresent me or millions of other Americans. He represents this administration and his death cult.

Whether you like the mosque or not can you really fault the PRESIDENT OF THE U.S. for saying that he agrees with the founding principles that our country was built on? I'd like to see the media ask any former presidents (who many of you think are better than Obama) what their opinion is. I'm pretty sure all of them would say the same thing whether they agree with it or not.

I agree 100% with your analogy. I just don't see what good associating the whole religion with the violence does for anyone. What we need are better relations - if both sides don't drop their prejudices we won't make any progress.

That's why the State Dept. outreach programs are great.

The Muslim world also has similar programs. One of the massive mosques in the UAE (it is in Dubai), Jumeirah Mosque has wonderful tours funded by the UAE center for cultural understanding. It is the only mosque in the UAE open for non-muslims and a great example of at least part of the muslim world trying to reach out to the West (cant think of anywhere else in the muslim world where more westerners pass through than Dubai) and show them first hand what the religion is really about. Those tours were overflowing with westerners - not all of them coming with a very favorable view of muslims.

Every little bit helps, both sides need to have a better understanding of each other.

Which is worse? I hope you liberals can answer that question yourself.

I'm not a liberal, I just think I've seen the people for what they are. I have spent a good amount of time in the Gulf states and Jordan and just find it sad how these guys are being portrayed.
