The founder of this site was a former retail site programmer.

When making online purchases prior to 2003, founder Scott Kluth became
frustrated by constantly leaving the coupon code box empty because that
blank code meant someone else was getting a better deal. Formally a retail
site programmer, Kluth knew that consumers shared this same frustration
when making online purchases. He decided to create a Web site that
collected Internet coupon codes, giving online shoppers one place to check
for coupons before making a final purchase. Since it's launch in 2003,
CouponCabin.com has been a leading online coupon destination, providing
coupon codes and deals to over 2 million unique visitors each month.
Scott Kluth launched CheapUncle in 2007.

Do you understand what the word "selling" means? People are finding coupons on his site and every time they use them, he is getting a commission (aka SALES check) from these retail stores. That IS selling.

What do you think he's doing? giving away coupons for free and not charging for the transaction?

OK, so if you create a landing page to sell shamwow, you are selling a landing page, not the shamwow.

These are about 100 business plans in that article. For any of the affiliates confused about how to make money in this current economy, here are a lot of great ideas that can be very small or built out very large.

even though there are a ton of coupon sites, there are many niche's to fill, and many good ideas that can be done better than what's out there.
 
I doubt that many retailers are specifically contacting CouponCabin with coupons... jump on CJ, grab their feed and you too can have the same thing.

That article just goes to show how little the real world knows about affiliate marketing, which is a great thing for us.
