Just read this in google adwords information harvesting policy:

Google AdWords doesn't allow websites that collect personal information in exchange for free gifts or quiz/survey results.

Is it safe to assume that this same policy would go for SEO? i.e. they might bitch slap a site that was trying to do this in terms of organic rankings?

fuck me. of course the same rules would apply. annoying though that this policy doesn't seem to be listed on their webmaster guidelines page that they refer dipshits like me to after denying a re inclusion request.
