Well if I haven't made it obvious enough by now, I'm just getting into the affiliate industry. I'm a professional web developer & designer looking to take a different approach with my skills. I have some affiliate experience with online casino referrals and have always been intrigued by the industry. With my web skills, I can produce well designed, feature and content rich, SEO-friendly websites extremely quickly. I planned on 'blueprinting' a few types of sites and launching a few of each for chosen niches. I'm trying to get accepted into the affiliate networks so I can view the offers and build/fill the sites accordingly - but I can barely get into these networks because I don't have any sites live at the moment.

What's the trick here?

Thanks

Well the obvious answer is to get some sites onlines first ;)

But that's not helpful is it! Not all networks require a site, try explaining you will also be using PPC marketing, promoting on Forums etc.

You could just setup a quick blog right now.

Pick a niche.
Choose a domain.
Buy a bit of server space.
Upload Wordpress or another blog software.
Do a little customizing.
Write a couple of articles.
Add a few pictures.

You now have a site.

I can easily put up a 100 sites right now, but like I said, I wanted to view/choose/insert the offers into the sites before putting up a mostly blank site. I thought they would be smart enough to know that anyone can host a CMS in 3 minutes. I supposed I'll just get something decent up and running to show.

If there are any managers here, maybe one can put an account through for me after reading this.

Thanks for the input, but I think you guys skipped over what I wrote. I get the point though.

Ring a ding dong - call them and talk to them... they will approve you.

Yeah, it's amazing what picking up the phone can do. Just call them and talk to them... if you sound like you know what you are talking about, they'll approve you.

Or just say you are doing media buys, myspace, facebook, etc which will direct link.

It is a good idea. I did talk to Hydra on the phone, and explained my situation via email and the app. Still no good. Neverblue said the same. Incentaclick accepted me but their program seems a bit week and I've heard bad things about them around here. Still waiting on Ads4Dough and one other. Maybe I'll try Azoogle out.

Thanks

mstef, I haven't built one site before applying to networks and I'm in many different ones. What I do every time (and it hasn't failed me yet) is just put "I build websites around offers" in the "Website" section, and then explain to them on the phone that I build PPC landing sites around specific offers.

Sounds like you tried something similar, but I'm not sure. It's weird that you've been shot down by so many networks.

Try C0peac/adz4dough

makethatmoney: smaxor just fast tracked my app in ads4dough (thanks). looks like enough to get the first site off the ground. I found the whole process to be strange too. We'll see what the other networks say.
