I am glad your thought process aligns with the ideas of 1870. That is very progressive of you.
You are the reason why feminism exists. :action-smiley-027:
First of all, let me reply to the thread.
I think it is great marketing to write a book like No More Mr Nice guy.
He identified a niche and nailed it. Kudos to him. It actually got me looking into the 'man-child' niche. So thank you OP, I would never read this type of garbage, but worth marketing to.
Now to reply to the Fem-pussies, if you want a TL&DR, here it is: Grow a fucking pair.
Now a more logical rebuttal:
Women have more rights in western society than men. In the 1800s, if a man cheated on his wife and she didn't like it, she would have to leave her kids, house and horse with the man, and she'd be lucky to leave with the shirt on her back.
In the 2000s, if a woman cheated on her husband, and he didn't like it, he would have to leave his kids, house and car with the woman, and he'd be lucky to leave with the shirt on his back.
If a woman says "I hate men, they are pigs" it is completely socially acceptable and she will be applauded by some of her friends. If a man does that, he is socially fucked. If a woman hits a man = ok, if a man hits a woman = monster. All these trends were reversed in the 1800s.
With the aforementioned facts, you think women need MORE protection? Are you kidding me?
Seriously though - the idea that men and women should be treated fairly/equally - what is wrong with that?!
Umm, because 'fair/equality' is in the eye of the beholder. I'd pay a female manager less without thinking about it. Is that fair? I don't know, to me ti seems so. Why? Because they pose a higher risk. For a few days a month they lose a bit of their logic. They value family over work (which is good for them, but bad for me). If they have a kid I can expect to have to pay for their maternity leave. They are likely going to want to start a family if they don't have one, in which case they might quit (which is good for them, bad for me). I don't know about you, but in my world, 'fair' means if you posses a higher risk to a company, you should get paid less. Be that people with a history of drug abuse, ex-cons, women, very young employees, you name it.
Women and men are NOT the same. They should NOT be treated equally. EVERYONE is different. There is no universal fair.
A woman runner will run slower than a male, so if there were mixed gender racing, should the woman get paid the same?
Women have a higher emotional quotient, so if they are involved with jobs where that is an advantage (child care, therapy, etc), should she be paid the same as her male co-worker who performs at a lower rate?
As guerilla would say: "Define equality"
In case you hadn't noticed, that's still not the case, AT ALL. And no bullshit about chivalry and equality working both ways etc. Cos I'm talking basic shit here.
You are right. Legally, women have SUPERIOR rights to men. Which is a bit disgusting.
Also, why do you need 'women' specific laws? Equality means a man beating a women is the same as a woman beating a man. Equality means NOT discriminating.
Any law/group aiming at equality and specifically addressing a certain faction of society is a fucking hypocritical piece of shit. You want equality? Start by not discriminating in your 'equality'.
The amount of women I personally know who have experienced sexual or physical abuse is ridiculous. Even in the media casual sexism and dismissing women is rampant, accepted and if it was directed towards blacks or gays etc, would totally fucking not be. Then there's pay equality etc. The list goes on.
Boo fucking hoo. Fat kids get picked on for being fat. Kids with glasses for having glasses. Ugly people for being ugly. Early balding for being bald. Short guys get picked on for being short.
Are you suggesting we create laws to make it 'fair' for these groups too? Maybe we should make it a requirement that basketball teams employ at least 50% people below 5 feet tall. That sounds equal?
Life is a bitch and then you die. Get over it.
Also, have you thought that maybe some of the downsides each faction of society faces also comes with upsides? The ugly kid works hard since he doesn't get affection just for being pretty. The pretty girl gets hit on all the time, but she also gets plenty of perks with that. The nerd becomes an outcast and builds an online empire.
Stop putting in 'fairness' laws. All they create is the opposite of what they intend. You want 'fairness'? Then be fair yourself and in so doing, don't impose on me. I'll be as fair or unfair as I fucking see fit. If your 'fairness world' is so awesome, everyone will start being like you and stop being like me.
