i have about 5 keywords running on adwords under a campaign right now. It says that my ad is live but for some reason Im not getting a single impression and its been about an hour...

anyone know why this could be? Its a direct link, and my bid is at about .25 a keyword.

All new accounts and/or new or edited ads will typically fall under a review process before they get impressions in Google Network. That includes image and site targeted ads. Keyword targeted ads can possibly show on Google but not Google Network sites before a review.

Might also be an issue w/ your bid. Just b/c a minimum bid is set at $0.XX shouldn’t necessarily necessitate setting your bid prices at that amount. You more times than not will fall into the low bid, horrible position, low ctr, garbage qs, and you’re stuck quandary.

Either:

A) Your ad is under review (which you can check in your adwords account. It should say eligible)

B) Your Bid is to low

C) You picked keywords that have a low search volume (check the expected amount of clicks in adwords)

My guess is your bid is to low.

I have bid $5 on certain keywords and still didn't get any impressions because my bid is to low. Try $1 and see what that does (if you can afford it and the conversion pays out over $20+). Or, try less competitive keywords and more of them.

Also, since you said you have 5 keywords, I would bet that you picked the 5 most competitive search phrases. For even extremely targeted campaigns I start with 400-500 key words or phrases.

Honestly, get ready to lose money for a couple weeks or try reading more about PPC ads. These tips listed above are about as basic as they come.

Lately google can be hard to even get an impression on highly bid on terms. Acai, Diet, Dating and keys assoc seem to be impossible to get an impressions with.

When the swineflu hit people tried to get ads through and it seemed G stopped them dead in their tracks.

When you say direct linking what do you mean. I ask because if you are using your affiliate link to your offer directly this will cause major issues.

If you do have a landing page what is it consist of. You need to build that page like you would a page you are doing for SEO, make it keyword rich for what you are trying to target.

yeah I put the affiliate offer straight into tracking 202 and then took the new tracking link it gave me and pasted it into the ad....

probably a bad idea im guessing?
