Next Penguin update?

Not to bump this amazing thread back up again, but it just occurred to me that today is the 1 year anniversary of the original Penguin algo rollout. Happy Birthday Penguin...you cocksucker.

Good job Google, way to knock the pretenders out of the game. Now if you could address those hacked links...thanks!

For once I'm actually excited about this next update because I have a lot of competitors that are still ranking above me with pure spam. (Thousands of shitty blog network links with optimized anchor texts)

The shitty thing is that the results were pretty damn decent in most of my niches prior to Penguin. Sure the top ranked sites may have had some low quality links and bad anchor text usage (my sites included in that), but the quality of the sites/content was really good and a much better user experience than what's at the top now. Penguin replaced those good sites with a bunch of 10 year old sites that had outdated content/designs which obviously hadn't done any type of link building in recent years

So while those sites may be squeaky clean, the user suffers because they're not really getting the best possible results for their query. They're getting old shit that hasn't built links. How does that make sense? User experience my ass.

^Google is clearly willing to sacrifice UX to reward whitehatters and penalize blackhatters. Between these 2 sites:

Site #1 : 9/10 content, 5/10 backlink profile
Site #2: 5/10 content, 9/10 backlink profile

I tend to think that Penguin favors site #2 most of the time. Sucks for the user perhaps, but Penguin has not been designed to give a fuck. :P

Not to mention those bastard plugin owners.

That sounds bizarre if you're in niches that actually have money in them.. Because I've not seen anything like that.

I still don't think anybody has a fucking clue about what an actual Penguin penalty entails or how long it lasts. The most common accepted definition I could find was a keyword specific (ie, not sitewide) penalty, generally brought on by over optimizing your backlink anchors for that specific keyword(s) you're penalized for.

If the above generally accepted conclusion (groupthink, ain't it grand?) is correct, than penguin has nothing to do with time or data refreshes. If your backlink profile is still fucked up when penguin refreshes after a year (if it does), you're still penalized. If you can fix it sooner (say, six weeks allegedly), penalty goes bye bye.

tl;dr: SEO(s) is(are) stupid.

For the love of Christ, will you please write to your blog. These threads get forgotten and your definition of things are clear and easy to understand for people. You really need to update it bub, you write well.
