New York Taxes

Don't forget option #3, find some desperate american chick to marry for citizenship.

I'm sure my girlfriend won't mind :) See, that's the one thing I love about the Islamic culture. Having multiple wives ;)

Seriously though, thanks for the replies.

Obviously this is really complicated. Will talk to a "professional" about this. Probably best to have an offshore trust in the Caribbean. Work from there, six months a year and spend the rest over in the U.S. if I can get the extended visa work.

Tourist visa is roughly 3 months a year.

Why would you want to come to New York if your "job" is affiliate marketing? You can do it from anywhere in the world, why don't you go somewhere warm?

Pursuing some wild, kid's fantasy :) Ever since I was a little kid, I wanted to live over in the U.S., NYC more specifically. There's some other cities I like too, but I just have a soft spot for NYC :)

Trust me, it is overrated. There are many much better places to live in in US and abroad then NY.

Still, why not just give it a try? Come over on a 3-month tourist visa this winter, rent an apartment in the same area/price range as what you would be renting (or buying) if you moved and see how you like it. If after those 3 month you still want to live in NYC, go ahead and pursue the visa idea. It will also give you plenty of time to learn about the NY tax laws, talk with the CPAs, etc.
