New Illinois Affiliate Tax Law.



Hasn't been voted on yet, it was just introduced.


As incompetent as Illinois is, with any luck that will take awhile.

With that said, It's a tax & this state is over run by democrats, not a great formula for it getting defeated.
 
Here is what I sent the legislators in Colorado. I got dozens of responses from it and further conversations:

It has been brought to my attention that there is a bill going in front of the Colorado legislature this Wednesday (January 27, 2010) which would greatly impact my business, family, and our customers in a negative way. I am one of the owners of Prosperent, Inc a Colorado based startup that provides affiliate marketing to local businesses. In fact, we currently work with over 2,000 small businesses which depend on our company to maintain sales. If the proposed bill HB 1193 is passed, we will no longer be able to operate in the great state of Colorado. In fact, we may not be able to operate at all. We have already received over a dozen letters and e-mails from companies that will have to sever ties with our company if this bill passes. It is because of this that I urge you to look at the overall negative impact this bill will have for small business owners like myself and vote against HB1193.
