NEW Facebook Ads

Question for anyone versed with FB Ads Manager. I've just managed to burn through $1000 in a very short time.

The way I understand that you use this tool is, split test images, with ad copy with genders and then just chuck in any targetting keywords. This managed to create over 118 ads, I set my budget to $1000 and watched the impressions pile in however before all my ads have had a chance to get impressions my budget is dead.

Now im looking at CTR on each of the ads that did get impressions and the best one was 0.0236% - DAMN!!

However there are still about 50 ads that didnt run because I ran out of budget. Can someone explain how to do this more efficiently so that I can test the ads with as little ad spend as possible.

Could be different demos, different bid floors and your 40c might not cover those demos? Not 100% sure though.

Old problem, no solution! I assume you are targeting the same demo with all of these ads. The only thing you can do is create different ad groups(campaigns) for 'each' variation of your ad. This will guarantee impressions for all of your ads. Tough job I know but there nothing you can do really.

Very simple solution to your problem.

Don't test with CPM bidding dude!!

You should only use CPM bidding if:

a) You are a brander (which I assume you are not as you are here)
b) You have already tested with CPC and have a very high CTR (well over 0.1% for it to make sense)

Stick with CPC to start with!

You have just learnt an expensive lesson, but thats part of the game.

While I agree with what you're saying but thats not the solution to what he is asking. Even if he duplicates these ads into CPC the result will be the same.

I totally disagree.

How would he have blown through $1k with the shitty CTR he was getting if he was bidding CPC? He would have found out that those ads's suck and traffic would have stopped flowing to them very quickly. The traffic would then have gone to the other ads with no impressions and prove whether they suck or not too. Total cost would have been like $50 MAX to test, not $1k

I am not sure what you think the guy was asking, but I bet my bottom dollar that this is the solution to his issue.

No I actually used 2 of the demographic options. The split test options were as follows.

Adult Split 18-20, 21-25, 26-30, 31-35, 36+
Genders M and F
Images - 5 images used
AD Copy - 2 Different Ad Titles and Ad Copy (Ad A and Ad B)

How about this. I pause all the ads after creation. I then activate all ads in the first age demo and watch them like a hawk, if the CTR is rubbish I pause them and move onto the next group of ads and monitor them in the same way.

Is this something that might work. The problem with this however might be that I haven't given the ads enough change to show their true CTR.

This does seem to make a lot of sense. Thanks. What im trying to achieve is spend less cash and test more ads with the budget I have and this might be the answer. What the fuck was I thinking.

?????

Dude I can't believe how stupid you are being. He asked for a solution and I gave him the right one. Have you ever ran Facebook traffic before?

I can't believe you have been on WickedFire for all this time and learnt nothing, must be enjoying the spinning cocks way too much.

What a douche!

Can you explain why you think his logic is invalid?

Not saying you are wrong either. The goal im trying to achieve is quickly ascertain which ads have the highest ctr with as little spend as possible. If facebook send me 1M impressions in like 5 seconds and I get 4 clicks I've wasted a fuck load of budget before I can pause the ad for being shit.

Seema, don't pay attention to this guy, he either:

a) Didn't understand your very clear question and then flamed me for answering it correctly - Dumb Douche

b) Is possibly trying to give you missinformation as he can't stand competition or is "trying" to be funny (very very unlikely) - Idiotic Douche

c) Doesn't know how to run FB traffic, but still answers questions on the FB thread like he is some sort of authority - Ultimate Douche

Conclusion - Douche

Thanks Dude i'll try again with CPC. +rep

Lol @ people getting on the hate train. Good luck testing 118 creatives for $50 max according to what bullster says.
Haters gonna hate!

lol you've been listening to ryan eagle too much thinking everyone except your mom is a hater. Yeah, you can't test all that for $50 but he wouldn't have got the same outcome if he bid CPC.

@seema, don't set your budget to $1000 on CPM while testing.

FatalError (appropriate) don't go around flaming other people and then start spouting that "haters gonna hate" crap when you are shown to be a cock. Instead of just looking like a cock you end up looking like a 14 year old cock.

lol so many replies. Looks like I hurt your feelings?
