New ebay site with PHPbay pro

Under wordpress setting - phpbay plugins I entered the EBAY PID (campaign number) and entered the custom ID (which i made up).

Don't forget to encrypt the URL's, display the items with images only and enable mod_rewrite.

Now add products!

use custom ID to name the site for easier tracking. make sure you sync it up in your EPN account, you can set it there as well. the regular one will say "default campaign" you can leave that, and than any additional sites you make just change the name...

also, to get the pages to work like that download the "flexi pages" widget
 
So i've based my skate site on rgordon83's Fender Blues Jr site.

The site has been live for around 3 weeks - a month i think.
On page optimization has been done and i've done a little link building.

Search engine traffic is coming through on really good keywords, mainly brand terms.

Any suggestions on what i can do to increase revenue?

increase traffic. If the brand names are what's bringing you traffic, pay someone to write some articles on those brand names to get you better rank for them u can get articles really cheap on here, like $5 an article. Or you can just write them yourself...

write at least 200 words,use your keyword 3-4 times on the page, and then throw an auction with 20 rsults on there. that should help with traffic...

pretty sweet. Got me $115 alone one that sale. The cookie was planted through the golfball site....

I'd change the ending time, to something like 20 minutes or whatever instead of the full date and time. Make me feel like I have to rush to get this great deal.

My biggest commision came from someone buying a big screen tv, it came through my pet relate site. lol

How did you do that? did you have to edit the PHP and stuff, i'm not so great at the technical side of things. (which is why i like PHPbay, you don't really need to know programming to use it...)

I use BANS but I figured it would have the similiar option. Does phpbay have a forum? I can't be the first person to think of this. I'm not that smart. :D

yeah, they have a forum. i participate there some. Plus the developer of the script is VER helpful, i'll just email him.

It was something i thought of doing a while back, just forgot about it until you just reminded me...

Yeah, it's all about setting a cookie. Last month someone bought a motorbike on ebay through my website about tea. The bike was $3400 but the commission only about $30. That's my biggest ebay commission so far.

Anyway, I'm running a few ebay store websites but I'm not using BANS nor PHPBay. I'm using my custom solution. The benefit is that I have a full control over the site. The downside is that it takes quite long time to setup such a website. Maybe I should make a post about it.

I found it under Reports / Transaction Download


And it's weird my site is pet related also and there were 12 winning bids and not one of them had anything to do with pets. Porcelian dolls, yoga dvds, a picture of a cow, a bowl that looked like fruit, and some other junk.

Not necessarily true. Many of the higher priced items have more competition, and will be harder to rank for.

I'd much rather rank in the top 8 results for a lower priced product and get tons of visitors then be on the 5th page for something very expensive.

I'ts all about setting the cookie, and to do that you want to get the most clicks possible. Pick a niche that has enough search vollume to get visitors ( at least150-200 searches a day) but not tons of competition (fewer than 100k results in google for a phrase search). That should let you get great results.


I emailed Paul from Uber Affiliate to see if he would let me do a guest post talking about making money with PHPbay and taking you through all the strategies from start to finish. We'll see if he get's back to me. I asked him if i could use my affiliate link in the post, so maybe he thought i was just using him. But truth is, the article will be mad helpful and would get him some blog traffic. We'll see what happens....
 
Gordon, thanks for the inspiration you've provided in this thread. I got started on 2 sites. No sales yet, but they've just been set up 2 weeks ago and see 2-5 visitors a day. No serious link building done yet, because I'm not in love w/ the design of either site, but may put in ovetime to design a better skin or pay someone to do it.

You know, after reading this thread I almost took some time today to set up a new site. I was really into eBay last year with CJ, but lost interest...

But then I read all of the threads on the eBay forum. So many complaints... Nobody seems to be happy: eBay Forums: eBay Partner Network (English)

Screw that. Until eBay fixes the obvious tracking issues, I'm not touching this with a ten foot poll.
 
Gordon I like your sites and I am using phpbay pro through your link and the ajaxBurlee theme. I installed all the plugins.
A couple questions on the theme.
How do you get rid of the "continue reading" and just display the post?
Also,
Its working great on IE all links work.
(only on firefox) the home page works great except when you hit any link it hangs on with a gear icon in the top left.. Any idea why?
