New ebay site with PHPbay pro

Selling balls on organic search is a tough gig as the competition is pretty stiff. Had a similar site years ago and found out the commission selling the balls is too small, or little to none... the only money you can make is the commish for the odd person who signs up for a ebay acct, but they are few and far between.

Nice site tho...
 
Nice looking site. Did you set up the menu on the left as pages or as categories

yeah i was thinking that. But then i thought the Demo may have a lot of older people not on ebay yet, so i was trying to get some signup action....

we'll see how it goes...
 
I just purchased the API version of phpbay and must say, tying that along with my article builder does provide a site with content and relative ebay links. I just got it out there to my 20 or so sites built so far, so it will be interesting to see how well it works. I must say, phpbay was easy enough to work with, though (especially if you know some PHP and can understand the API code).
 
I am thinking about buying this but I would like to hear how it works for you guys first. I probably don't have the time to get it setup for a little while anyway so for anyone that has bought it, when you have some results I'd really appreciate if you could post about it in this thread. I'd be interested to see if you guys get (m)any new user sign ups or if its mostly commissions. Anyone that has used phpbay or BANS in the past I wouldn't mind hearing your opinions on making sites like this.

Encrypt Ebay URLs
Display "Buy if Now" Items Only
Display Items with Images Only
Use mod_rewrite on Ebay Images
Search Titles AND Descriptions
Select Sort Order

I don't know anything about ebay so any help is appreciated.

Here are my typical options i select, you can modify based on your niche...

Encrypt Ebay URLs Yes
Display "Buy if Now" Items Only - Probably not
Display Items with Images Only yes (maybe "no" if not a lot of items on ebay for your niche)
Use mod_rewrite on Ebay Images Yes (should be instructions on how to set up your .htaccess file Or i'll post what i have to this board when i get home)
Search Titles AND Descriptions No
Select Sort Order Ending Soonest - or - Lowest Bids
