And why do people say stupid shit like "they stole the land". All land is in a state of eternal struggle... the Americans took it through violence from the Indians who took it through violence from whoever was there before... and so on and so on.

Funny you mention QC student protests. I think one of the main reasons they are out on the streets is because there is no water fluoridation in QC, unlike Ontario and most of other parts of Canada. Hence why young people are ready to take it to the streets. Whether they are in the right or wrong is another question.

Health care isn't taken out of income tax. Well, I'm sure some funding for it is, but there's also a separate bill for it. Same as you get a monthly bill for your health insurance, so do Canadians. Difference being, in Canada it's a legally mandated single payer system that you have to start paying into once you become an adult, so depends on province, but only costs about $45/month for an individual.

I can't remember, but Alberta may have done away with the health care fees altogether. I remember they were talking about it, but don't know if they did it or not. If they did, they're the only province.
