This is why it is never a good idea to announce things before you do them.
Once expectations are created, they are nearly impossible to manage, and very hard to live up to (as they seem to increase, on their own, over time).
This is true, and I think there's been some scientific studies to prove this. Basically when you publicly say you're going to do something (on a forum, to a friend...) you've decreased your chances of actually doing it, because somehow in your mind you've already completed the task, when in fact you haven't. Weird human psychological shit.
