My chances of getting accepted into an Aff. Network?

Hello, I'm new (obviously). I've been reading the stickied material and the recommended newbie guides for a few days and I tried to apply for several Affiliate Network sites but none has replied to me yet and I'm afraid I'll be turned down by them all, because:

1) I don't have a company. I'm an individual. Some have a required field "Company name". It's true, some don't and let you choose between company and individual, but then:

2) I'm not in the US, UK or Canada. I'm in Slovenia (a little country in central Europe); to quote Nickycakes.com :
So if you’re not from the US, the UK, or Canada, you may have a difficult time getting approved. Sucks to be you.

3) My English isn't very good, especially my spoken English; and I'm a bit worried about receiving a call, since my Slavic accent (which is a bit like a Russian accent) will surely scare them off. :)

What are my best chances to get approved into an Aff. Network? And which one should I try to get into, especially considering I'm a beginner? I tried applying to NeverBlue, PeerFly, among others.

Thank you for any kind of reply. Great forum, I'm so happy for finding it; before I was only looking at disinformation.

I'd say your odds of getting accepted are about equal to Kobe Bryant throwing 4 TD's in the superbowl and winning it. Not impossible... but there is a chance!

What would be your advice then? To drop this specific type of marketing and think about other options, like trying to earn with Blogs/AdSense, maybe? I have a lot of time on my hands right now and around 1000$ to invest in something. Any advice? I hope I'm not being too obnoxious with the questions.

what are area you looking to do? $1000 isn't as much an investment as it is a quick test to look at numbers for some areas.

by areas i mean are you trying to do products on adwords/msn, zip/email submits to the facebook type crowds, rank sites in engines.

if you have a lot of time on your hands I would look into learning seo. can get some good books, use a bit of cash to hire some people in the bst and then examine what they did and learn it yourself.

if you do some decent research on products and niches you can multiply that 1k pretty nicely with seo then push that to ppc if you want. that was my plan but I keep putting it back into more seo without going back to ppc.

one day!

Call them,

Dont say things like "sir" "mister" or "se0".

Tell them you know something they're interested in

Be persistent

Dont give up

Beg

(hmm, very similar to picking up girls)

Not being from US has nothing to do with getting accepted.

If some networks decline your application move on to the next one, there's a wide choice of good networks today.

Give them a call to speed up the process, whichever is the outcome. Tell them what you plan to do. Don't worry about your accent.

Remember that most networks don't work during weekends ( at least for approvals ).

OP,

I have a thick Greek accent and I live in the States. The problem is I have an American passport, so when I tell them I am from the States but at the same time sound like a crack monkey it sounds like I am not being truthful.

I still got accepted in networks though.

Its a matter of trying...got rejected by 4 networks before getting accepted to two.

You can try getting accepted into Adscend Media, their review process doesn't require a phone call.

I was in your situation and I am now in like 80-90% of top ones, stop reading blogs, Nickycakes included lol and so some job

I think the best bet for you, rather than trying to avoid phone calls, and pretend you're not slovenian, is to go the total opposite route. Show you're a stand-up, legit guy. Specifically ask for a phone call in your application, telling them not to overlook you just because you're Slovenian. On the phone call, admit you're new to affiliate marketing, but say that you think you could do well with their offers. Admit that you know your English may not be perfect, but tell them that won't stop you.

Update.

Update: Thank you for your valuable feedback! Most rejected me, but two accepted me! Good enough to start, I guess.

Dude, you are in! Congrats. Now start establishing a relationship with your affiliate marketers and ask them how you should start your career.

Once you get a few campaigns under your belt re apply.

Everyone's scared at first. Remember the first time you tried to make it with a girl/woman? Maybe no success, but I bet you kept trying, and you probably succeeded to some degree. What's the worst thing that can happen? They tell you NO! So what, FWN...Fluckem, who's next.

I can tell you're smart. Tell them you can drive traffic. Period. That's all those whores care about anyway, and don't worry about that accent.

Just do it, Dude.
