My $80,000 Mistake with DirectLeads/DirectTrack

Yeah it's been many moons since I heard bad shit about these fuckers and decided not to roll with them. Sue them for more than they have for u dude. Include stress and all that shit in the lawsuit.

These fucking networks just love shittting affs then get up and go. Nothing my fucking 9milli won't solve if I knew where these fucks lived.

These events make me think that we affiliates have to take action, we can't be the weak wheel of this industry.
We should make a rank for every Affiliate Network we know about and make it public here, a kind of "Credibilty Rank". This one should be managed by senior affiliates, trusted and recognized people, who check every negative feedback about a network.

This "Advertiser didn't pay us, so we're not paying you" thing.. is becoming creepy.

We don't have to deal with this, if the TOS of an offer includes an affiliate 'fuck off' if an advert doesn't pay, don't run the damn offer.

When we consciously run these offers with "chargeback" verbiage, we only fuck ourselves. We're actually believing if the network puts this in, they've somehow become our friends in the transaction. What's the point of a network if they're going to allow this backdoor? Just go direct or create the offer yourself.

When that stipulation is on an offer, better to not make anything than to lose 40K, especially since the trend of networks pushing the risk BACK to affiliates is so prevalent.

frankly I don't see why with all these advertisers screwing people over, we haven't heard of an affiliate marketer shooting up the offices of the company screwing them over.

or at the very least, following one of these directors home from their office and taking a bat to their head in the comfort of their own home.

I'd agree with bb wolfe if a large percentage of good offers didn't have these terms.

and lately a lot of networks are doing nothing to protect affiliates.

The sad thing, this is the shit that is actually showing up on wickedfire. a lot of the gripes are not.

I hear about networks all the time that are prominent posters here fucking guys over.

This shit is becoming all too common in this industry.

1) Digital River = Direct Track ... so I am not surprised about this. I could tell you something very very illegal about Direct Track but only off record via PM.

2) Get a lawyer and fight the f*ck out of this. Networks are doing this because of losses related to rebills.

Attention networks: Stop dicking us. It's not our fault so many of you invested hard in rebills. Adapt your business model and move on. Pay what you owe f***ers!

amen. :angryfire:

Wow, that is really shitty. Good luck to you man. I like the part how you state money isn't the most important thing in life as well, losing a family member is a lot harder than losing 80 grand, still unfortunate though.

Get a lawyer on contingency, which means you only pay him/her if she nets you money. A lawyer will certainly take the case in this economy. You also potentially have a punative case, which means there's money beyond what's owed. Just hand it over and let the stress be theirs.

Seriously what is a point of the network if they don't take advertiser risk?
Can ANYONE answer this?

I was going to build this some time ago but never got around to it. I think someone should build this out. Would be great.

Also report them to the BBB, I would try everything to get my money. Getting a lawyer and sue is the first step, but also report them to the BBB. Maybe won't help you getting your money but at least they will be listed.

And why don't you try to have big bloggers pick up your case, can't hurt to try to make a big wave so everybody reads this story, even people who don't read wickedfire (do people like this even exist?)

I would go ballistic if somebody fucks me over like this.

Networks, here is your new business model and slogan

"We only work with prepaid advertisers and we never fuck with legit affiliates"

As more and more affiliates get fucked, I think a network like that might make it.

The BBB is a joke basically. Companies pay to become a member of BBB. No matter what reply is sent to a complaint they will side with the company. I know this from first hand experience.
