More NSA stuff

Apropos of nothing.
The Morris worm which was written by Robert Tappan Morris (hence the name), was the first large scale computer worm.
Now for you peeps who don’t know your history, back when it was written, computer worms and virus were considered part of the AI (artificial intelligence) spectrum.
It seems stupid now, but a lot of people working in computer science back then (1980's) considered the idea to be impossible.
A computer program that understands different operating systems and modifies it behaviour so it can gain access based on known exploits... AND THEN REPLICATE AND SPREAD? GTFO you kook!
Any who, Robert wrote and released the worm from a university computer lab, now depending on who you listen to and/or believe, he made a mistake in the code and the part of the code that was meant to stop it from spreading actually exponentially increased its infection rate.
By now you’re probably thinking, I don't give a fuck acidie. You can GTFO.
We'll here is we're it starts to get interesting.
Robert's father worked at, wait for it, wait for it... the NSA.
Even though Robert Morris was convicted, his father testified in his defence, and he ended up getting community service. Not saying there is a relation, you can take that however you want.
I have no idea how much his father’s role at the NSA had to do with Robert getting a slap on the wrist for what, at the time, was one of the largest attacks on networked computer infrastructure (the worm infected and crashed 10,000's of university and government computers).
But you can bet Robert got a visit shortly after from his father and some friends asking how, what, why, when this code could be useful to the NSA.
What’s my point, besides the fact that I just woke up and haven't nearly enough caffeine and nicotine to stop me from talking a load of shit about random crap?
We'll it's this. The media, the public and anyone else who is frothing at the mouth over this is late to the party.
And it's not the fashionably late, it's the kind of late where you turn up and the building the party was at has been knocked down and replaced by a Denny’s.
Side Note: If I end up dying from either liver failure due to excessive consumption of caffeine or cancer from smoking, just know, it was a cover up!!!
