Poor Martin. This thread ain't leaving the 1st page until after criminal proceedings. That's probably 6+ months from now.

Beat me to it!!

I haven't seen anything yet on criminal charges being filed, but what they are alleging is serious stuff.

Timeline of Marin Grunin's rags to Hundred thousandaire back down to dead broke and in debt (I can foresee the future..) story:

- Martin Grunin fakes bank statements and company infos to get 70 FB Ads accounts from FB.
- Poses as ad agency rep for multiple companies by spoofing their emails and fwd-ing numbers.
- Does so to extend the agencies' credit lines.
- Cloaks and spams the crap out of Facebook with the advertising agency accounts for adult dating offers, against FB's anti-affiliates policy (even though they officially solicited affiliates that bankrolled their entire first few years of advertising revenues prior to their IPO launch DIRECTLY from affiliates/advertisers they found specifically on this forum... but hey, that's another story for another time.)
- Facebook sends billing statements to the spoofed emails that Martin Grunin controls.

[NOTE: All of it could have stopped right here, and all he had to do was face likely being banned from Facebook for life, but at least he would have had the money to pay the bills.. but this when he decided, nahhh, I'm above the law and I deserve this money, plus I'm too smart to get caught.. Yeah, let's do this.. ]

-Martin Grunin responds back to Facebook's billing department with FALSIFIED bank statements on behalf of the companies.
- Facebook sends Martin Grunin a C&D to stop spamming ads, he agrees, but says zero fucks given and continues right on with it on the same day. (Proof - oh look, he posted about it here back in 2011..
- Facebook attempts to bill the actual companies on record and is denied as they have no idea what Facebook is yammering on about, as the people whom they have been in touch with have never worked for their companies, nor have they ever really existed either.
- Martin Grunin Flips the burned Facebook Ad accounts to buyers/other affiliates for up to $30,000 each. [link]
- Facebook is pissed because no one is paying for the $350,000+ spent by those accounts...

And then the plot thickens.. in a weird way... as usual...

- Martin Grunin pretends to be a stock market winner winner chicken dinner.
- Makes claims that he has made all of this money STRICTLY from his hidden talents of picking winning stocks!
- Martin Grunin rents a Lamborghini and scuffs it up, but brags about it ON his Facebook so everyone can see what a fool he is for parking it in Brooklyn, on the street, overnight.
- Makes a VERY foolish bet with Jon Fisher (oh yeah, you're gonna be my slave bitch now dude!!)
- Creates threads about amazing stock picking skills hoping to show off and prove his LEGEND status claims!

- Wait for it... Wait for it....

- Fails to pick winners. Everything tanks.
- Waits a lil bit...
- Tries again with second thread.
- Fails harder.
- Apparently someone forgot to turn on his inner stock picking talents mechanism.
- No worries, begins to sell a service where YOU can PAY HIM for picking BAD stock tips for you to invest in!!
- DEAL OF THE CENTURY!!!!
- Creates account at EliteTrader forum to prep for epic live trading example to promote future forum.
- Fails REALLY REALLY hard by doing the opposite of everything he claimed he would not do when picking stocks.
- Has more experience than Harvard and Yale grads.
- Clearly has no experience at all at following his own investment advice.
- Gets sued by Facebook.
- Lives the baller life... with dad.. at home.. BUT HE HAS HIS OWN ROOM!!!
- May face bank fraud criminal charges too.
- Gets the fame he was looking for... in the NY Post labeled as a scammer.
- Lulz and some tears everywhere.
- Life goes on.

Me, I always believe Jon because He actually has a Vested interest in WF. I say Ban every WF account that the grunin character is associated with. Good riddance to that "alleged douchebag".

Are you kidding me? Why deprive ourselves of such glorious entertainment? I can't wait until he decides to post again!

My head's spinning reading all this. For you legal minds out there, can Facebook take legal action against Brian Costello for that above letter. From I see they're essentially calling that settlement offer a contract whether it's accepted or declined, despite it lacking most the qualifications of being a contract, and trying to impose financial penalties for attempting to use the legal system. Surely that has to be breaking quite a few laws that would allow Facebook or their lawyer to go after Costello personally. I can't imagine a judge looking kindly upon a party trying to impose fines upon people for using the legal system?

No, they wouldn't dignify it. He may be fitted for a straight jacket; order of commitment.

Sending a check is an error in its own, if it came from him. If they do get judgement they now have an account to levy by simply sending a letter. Further more they can petition the bank for any assets. So say if he has an auto loan through them they can seize any assets, savings accounts, whatever is owned by his person.

Hopefully it was sent from his Infact Guy's account.

Judges can and will use prejudice in cases. They already made some other judge take on the case now they are just mocking him and wasting his time. Remember in the end, he is the one decides what the penalties and restitution is.

Grunnin I always liked you. Sad to see this guy getting you slapped in face. Or more like hit by a semi truck.

Check number 93. Very little chance there is anything in the account ($250.03) to attach.

Wouldn't it have been smarter to send a $15,000 cheque, at least then there is some small possibility that FB could feasibly accept it. Also it shows willingness to take the matter seriously rather than mocking the judge with an obviously ridiculous $250 cheque.

He's full on destitute. He's got two wrecked cars that FB will attach with the judgement. You run his NYDL and voila; instant DMV title pulls.

I love visiting this thread after a few days and reading more golden nuggets.

I'm no expert but my arm-chair analysis would be:
No, they wouldn't sue for being sent the letter.

Stating that you are going to bill someone for calling isn't illegal. However, suing them for calling would be thrown out and open you up for a counter-suit that can recover legal costs and punitive damages for being a dingle-berry.

Brian is heavily involved in serious legal matters with limited experience. Chances are he is going to cross some legal lines that FB lawyers will railroad him for. I've actually used Perkins Coie for some IP work and they put Louisiana Lawyers I've worked with to shame.
