Mark Sanchez & Aaron Rodgers: Will NFL See two Pac-10 Quarterbacks in the Superbowl?

Too bad there isn't a polling system. I'd like to see how many pac-10 fans we have out there.

As a USC Trojan alum, I've followed aaron rodgers in his college days and actually saw the 1 lost USC got against UC Berkeley that year in San Francisco (bummer). Drove to Northern Cal to get beat (ouch).

What I like about rodgers is his poise. Kinda like what you get with Tom Brady, so that'd be nice to see him take this year. Greenbay really deserve a Superbowl after all that year of dealing with Favre's retirement indecisions. So big ups to Rodgers for showing great sportsmanship & sideline etiquette.

Mark Sanchez: what a fuckin Gunman.
That kid's all guts and glory. Probably most explosive quarterback this year, and he's got a lot of game-time ahead of him. He doesn't have the same poise as do Rodgers and Brady, so the next question is, if he were to Win a Superbowl, how would he handle the fame?
 


Congratulations on being the first and only person to think about or give a shit if both QB's happen to have played in the Pac 10.

That said, Rodgers is the next dominant QB of the league and is fucking amazing.

Sanchez is promising but still has to work on his mechanics. Jets busllshit ends with the Steelers. They won the lotto with the Pats imploding and playing like shit. Pats didn't want it and it showed.

Yeah, the jets bullshit was suppose to end with the Colts, right? They had ZERO chance against the Pats, right? Keep doubting the Jets, it is what fuels them. They are a beast of a football team, that no one seems to respect outside of NY.

They are obviously a good football team but anyone that watched that game knows the Pats imploded from the start. They gave them that game. Jets were motivated and deserved to win.

But don't tell me the Jets are a better team. Pats would win 7 out of 10 times. Just the nature of a playoff system.

Jets beat the pats 2 out of 3 games this season.

Sanchez is honestly, just a "meh" quarterback. Elite? Gun slinger? Explosive? Ha, not any of the above!

I would describe him as more, propped up, over glorified, and purely inconsistent.

Some of you guys really like to ride the bandwagon when someone goes off. What Sanchez did vs the Patriots was unexpected at best. I would very well consider it the kind of game Hasselbeck had vs the Saints in the first week of the playoffs (and I sure as hell didn't buy into that noise). Hell he didn't even get it in the end zone against Indy the week before. If there is anything Sanchez has shown is that he can, and will bounce back to his normal way. Don't get me wrong, he's shown he's capable of doing, but he hasn't shown hes capable of consistently doing.

Somewhat impressive he's been well over 100 QB rating vs the Pats twice this season, but the only other times he's broke that mark was against Miami, Huston, and Buffalo (whom he should have been able to move the ball on easily). Their loss against the Pats he posted a dismal 27.8 QB rating, didn't get to the end zone and threw 3 picks. This last week he made quite a few mistakes that for some reason or another the Pats didn't capitalize on. Now that's something I don't think will happen vs a stout Pittsburgh defense. Once you get Sanchez out of his rhythm a little bit he crumbles, he just doesn't have the mental fortitude.

What is really telling about his stats is how he handles the tougher defensive teams he's played this season. Week 1 vs Baltimore, 74 yards, 0 TD, 0 INT, 56.4 QB rating. Week 8 vs Green Bay, 256 yards, 0 TD, 2 INT, 43.3 QB rating. Week 15 vs Pittsburgh, 170 yards, 0 TD, 0 INT, 81.1 QB Rating. Wildcard round vs Indianapolis, 189 yards, 0 TD, 1 INT, 62.4 QB Rating.

Seeing a pattern there? He had 7 games so far this season (6 regular season, 1 playoff) where he's failed to get the ball into the endzone. That's a staggering 38.8% (7/18) of games this season (including the playoffs) he hasn't made it into the endzone. Who are you going to take?

There are only two real quarterbacks left in this playoff hunt, Aaron Rodgers and Ben Roethlisberger.

Great season encapsulation. For a rookie QB, you gotta love his more than "nothing to lose" chances. I gave him more clout based on the fact that 9 out of the previous top QB rookies have tanked. No one has really done anything memorable since peyton manning.

This kid is unpredictable. But I'm favoring your choices, however, i'd love to see him beat the odds on this one.
