I would like to start a discussion on profiting from facebook.

I don't mean by using the ad campaigns you can buy from them. I mean in ways similar to how everyone was making cash off of myspace in the past years. Facebook seems largely untapped.

I have been creating an account with a large amount of friends. I am wondering how I can profit off this.

There is the obvious post CPA offers on their walls and inbox. However I was hoping for some more creative and better ways people are making money.

I havn't seen any discussion of this on WF and am looking forward to hearing what ideas some of you have.
 


Advertising on Facebook is NOT worth it, that's why no one on wickedfire talks about it. . I've wasted over $1000 promoting and didn't make a single sale :(.

I heard things like "bum marketing" and starting "make money online" blogs is where it's at these days.

Having a lot of friends on one account is hard to monetize. If you hit it too hard, you get reported and terminated.
Any large scale spam op is going to have issues because they're quite trigger happy with the legal docs, they use ReCaptcha, and quite honestly facebook operates so slowly it'd be a pain in the ass.
 
Just throwing it out there, but what about the "100,000 friends and I'll do X" type of strategy.

Maybe there is a way you could take advantage of building a facebook group around an idea like that. So, to "borrow" an idea from another WF member, you could make the group "Help Ryan Get a 3-Some" and the point of the group would be "My girlfriend says she'll do a 3some with me and another girl if I can get 100,000 other people to say it's normal/they'd be okay with it/they've done it before. Join my group and help me get there!"

Then build a Wordpress site with regular updates on the whole thing, and finally say you found the 3rd person on AFF and everyone can join up via your link to look for your profile, etc.

Or maybe you need 100,000 people in the group so you won't kill and eat a bunny :D Not sure how to monetize that one.

I feel like facebook apps are the way to go. Can't imagine how much money the "are you interested" app is making
 
I've been thinking of making some apps, just have too much to do to learn their backass coding system :p
 
I read some porn company had a girl take a bunch of pictures with her and her "friends" so it seemed just like some everyday girl, and they built a basic very basic site to see the nudes but you had to pay to see them.

Pretty good idea
