Just did an online preorder for delivery in 2-3 weeks .. dirty fuckers charged me $4200 lol

I'm going with low end + superdrive + applecare (A MUST, no user replaceable battery means this thing is a brick in 2 years time, plus v1.0 of a product etc. etc.) and it's going to cost me a hair over $2k... now where did I put that AdSense check....

dang... wish i had that kinda money layin around... those things are pretty sweet. still holding out for the 3G Iphone here.

I imagine they are going to sell these like crazy, even though you cannot remove the battery. They'll probably introduce some kind of external battery. Anyways, it looks pretty nice.

I really don't understand why everyone is jumping at the chance to buy a laptop that will be dead in two years... forcing you to send it off for something as simple as a battery replacement. I remember when I sent my ipod off... it was gone for a month.

Enjoy transferring everything from the MacBook Air over to a real laptop for a few weeks while the battery gets replaced.

Oh... and from what I hear you can't upgrade the RAM either... and that Ethernet cable you need to use... oh, well there's no jack on the Air for it, sorry. If you want a real laptop (thin too), get a Sony Vaio... if you want something different, get an EEEPC... if you want a $3,000 headache, get a MacBook Air.

Apple could take a giant dump in a box, paint it white, and people would pay any price Apple set for it.

mac book pro's are very thin already, i would rather have that then this one...its cooler and nicer and i would probably get this cause i dont like working on laptops but if i wanted a computer to do work on it would have to be mac book pro or a desktop

Bullshit, when I had to replace the motherboard (not just a battery) they took it for 2 hours... yeah, not days, hours. Just tell them that you really need it so they will start ordering the part and they will give you call when they have the part at the apple store.

Good for you. Not everyone has an apple store around the corner.

I don't get why all you guys are saying its "perfect for the internet marketer", or "perfect for web development". It has a 13" screen, no optical drive, not particularly powerful. Tiny laptops are good for portability... so you could take it on a plane, to maybe watch a movie on.... errr wait, no damn DVD drive!

It's "cool", but not even remotely practical for getting any kind of real work done on.
