Somethings I do to my Aff site to make it seem like i'm an authority in a particular niche:

-have a jobs info page
-have a press page
-purchase a ssl certificate
-write up a good amount of comments for each blog post
-fabricate the RSS reader numbers
-
have seperate emails for each "department". Sales, advertising, press investor realtions etc

Feel free to add on

purchase a ssl certificate? Damn expensive and I dont know how to get one cheaper. Have you proof that works?

And of course privacy policy page and physical addresses are good.

That's a great list Frank.

- "Our Offices" photos
- Company tournaments/events news + photos
- Portfolio of clients
- Industry publication RSS feeds

Not expensive at all.

If you're showing a SSL page to your visitors when they need to enter personal information it should be a must on your to-do list.

Why in the work would an affiliate site need an SSL cert ? What personal information are you collecting as an AFFILIATE?

I think it would help conversions greatly if you told me who the hell that girl in your sig is. (providing of course she's a model or something and not just a random person)

That sig always deserves a couple cycles when I'm scrolling. It's really screwing up my flow

Certain programs allows you to host your own forms, forms that do collect personal information, that information will then be pushed forward to the company and not retained on the affiliate's server.

Information like SSN and drivers license number, date of birth, etc.

It really depends on the type of site you're operating.

How is this expensive? You can get one at godaddy for like 20 bucks.

On the other hand...Hacker Safe certificates are supposed to work very well...They however are expensive!
