keyword anchor diversity and impact on main KW

Howdy,

Can any1 explain to me something ?

Let's say my page main KW I'm want to go in SERPS high is:

"red carpets"

so I do links with anchor red carpets.....

but what if I do links with anchors like that:

best red carpets
buy red carpets
red carpets cheap

etc...

will it have impact on my position on the "red carpets" keyword too or not ???

To Add I think that It will be better to stick with the "red carpets" rather than add more words if you want SOLID Link building to your site.

If you think that you will rank or your article will rank with the KW "buy red carpets" then hell go for it. But if your target is just "RED CARPET" then don't use "buy red carpet" as anchor text.

Contrast to that, A link is a link, even if it gives you 1 drop of link juice to 1 glass it is still a link and it will count with or without a proper Anchor text. So you decide.
