I've got $200 to invest...suggestions please.

... Buy a knife. Put up a free wordpress theme. Sell shitty cats you whittle out of wood with your knife and free wood found on the side of highway. Save enough to buy a chain saw. Make chain saw carvings. Sell by the highway where you found your first piece of wood.

Long term return:
Buy a domain, woodywoodsman.com. Buy a knife. Put up a free wordpress theme. Sell shitty cats you whittle out of wood with your knife and free wood found on the side of highway. Save enough to buy a chain saw. Make chain saw carvings. Sell by the highway where you found your first piece of wood.

Rinse and repeat all across the country.

Thanks for the suggestions. Pretty sure I'm going this route..or the Tenerr gigs.

If you want to play the lottery.

Put it all in
PRAN

or some other bio tech company waiting on trial results.

Break out treatments / drugs

goes to billions.

Test results come back that it kills granny, it goes to 0.

With a 220 million dollar valuation already this ones got a bit less upside then some longer shot plays, but they have some rather promising trials going for Alzheimers and the upside on that on that one is billions and billions. You get a break out treatment for managing grannies mind going sour you still are talking 20-50 fold returns depending on how much they have to dilute the shareholders to get the drug far enough along to get bought out.

Interesting... It's either going to skyrocket or tank once results of their clinical trials are released in March of next year.

Doing some research, other than their lab rat trials I couldn't find anything concrete on their early alzheimer trials. Other than this article which I haven't had the time to fully reach through

PLOS ONE: Metal Ionophore Treatment Restores Dendritic Spine Density and Synaptic Protein Levels in a Mouse Model of Alzheimer's Disease

It's worth noting that the stock has gone up about 40% in the past two months, largely resulting on optimistic news coverage of questionable reporting standards. For instance after this yahoo news article about the study and one doctor in the drug trials as saying "According to Mr Macfarlane the preliminary results have been incredible, especially with Mr Lawler."

However it's worth noting that it wasn't an exact quote and instead what they journalist writing the story attributed him as saying. And from what I read there was 100 people in the study in both Australia and the US, which is a small sample size to begin with. But this one doctor probably only had 2-4 patients max, and he doesn't know if the drugs he was giving patients was a placebo or the real thing. And with just a couple patients it's really questionable if any 'incredible results' were the result of the drug or something else.

Alzheimer s drug breakthrough: trialled in Australia - Today Tonight

Interesting company and drug trials none the less and possible good investment with further research. Since ultimately you are largely gambling on what happens next year. I would want another week till the stock corrects itself a bit, since it did jump up 20% in the past day.

Here is my take, wait a bit longer with GLD. I want to see it go down to about $114-$115. As soon as that happens, wait for the upturn, if it starts heading back to $117-$118, hope right in long and enjoy your new found riches soon enough.

Heh thats the story of bio tech. Theres a lot of money to be made just in playing the media hype game since the valuation fluctuations are often driven purely by the positivity / negativity of the news for years at a time.

--- I'd caution people not to get to optimistic. Its fairly likely to be the next onyx or biomarin, or better, but it could just as easily be a sonus and you could lose your shirt.

find a 'call girl' who's willing to give you 3 hours for $200 and re-sell her services to people for $200 per hour

....it ain't easy though... it's hard out here
