It's awesome - we love meeting in there and our staff does too. It's great to take some scotch in there for meetings and just look out.

Interviewing people with our backs to the windows is pretty hilarious. "You mean ... I'd work.... here?"

Are you guys some ballin marketers or is that a start-up? I'd like to check it out when I come thru NYC.

i do all my eating, sleeping, video gaming, college homework, and business in this tiny room. minimalism brah.

But it gets the job done bruh. good for you for not purchasing a bunch of shit you don't need.

Real gay webmasters have filthy work stations.

BTW, I always keep fresh soda on the right, old ones go to the left. Otherwise I pick up the wrong one and take a fucking drink of 4 day old soda...not cool.

I like your surround sound setup

TY! The way I have it setup, it really enhances the "surround" feeling of the sounds. I did a lot of research to figure out the speaker positioning for optimal performance. I use the sub for my foot rest.

Truth be told, I use headphones. The only time I turn the speakers on is when I want to annoy Amanda or my dog. Sometimes I will blast a wolves howling video on youtube to terrorize my dog.

I have to keep liquids directly in front of my keyboard for this exact reason. If at any point during the day it end up ourside of the safe zone its discarded.

Late to the party, but I figured I'd go ahead and post my padded cell.

Yes, I work an 8-5. Yes, my current position is controlled by a supervisor who is not a proponent of micromanagement. This means I see him for maybe ten minutes a day, and the rest of the day he leaves me alone to do my thing. I've perfected and automated this position to the point where I do about two hours of solid company work a day. The other six are spent surfing the internet and on other pursuits and dreams.

This allows me the following: 1) I am paid regardless of whether or not my sites make money, 2) All my supplies are free, 3) Time away from the desk (nights, weekends) are spent enjoying the presence of the wife or creating things. I'm trying to get into leatherworking and woodworking most recently. Staring at a screen all day and night can get tiresome.

Also, I enjoy neatness. I did not clean the cube for these photos.

I wish that I could say I did, but no.

It's a Fossil bag I picked up for 10% of it's original price. I hope to pick up a starter leatherworking kit for myself for a Christmas gift, and be mediocre at it by March.

holy hell working in a cubicle is my ultimate nightmare, thanks for the motivation.

office space cubicle - YouTube

When I was in college, I found Internet marketing and registered for Wickedfire. I proceeded to dick around with my Internet pursuits for almost three years. I made close to nothing with this, save for a few writing gigs that fizzled out, and some ebooks I sold to naive kids.

After college, I had a job working at a hotel. Liked my job, didn't like the principles of the place (attached casino, extremely strict guidelines, workplace didn't really let employees be themselves at all). Again, dicked around, made nothing except for a dribble of income from referrals.

Moved to a more densely populated area in July so my wife could start medical school. Got a job using my skills and my degree. Got this cubicle. I initially hated it, but I've learned to accept it and the fact that it makes me productive.

I get my work done for the company, I get my work done for me, and I still dick around too much and don't really make money. But I'm getting a system together. A four-year plan.

In four years, my wife will start residency, and we will most likely move elsewhere for this. When that happens, I want the following to happen:

1) Work remotely with the same company (be able to legitimately work two hours a day without the need to look busy),
2) Have a niche for a site/content I am passionate about, and make a small bit of side income from it,
3) Learn marketable offline skills. The world does not exist in this laptop screen,
4) Have several streams of income to assist in repayment of student loans from wife's medical school, as well as money for savings/travel/misc.

This cube will allow me to do so.

I digress for more photos.

^^ dude dont let anyone here get you down. i dont think that is what SLO U Roll meant but at least you got a plan and income.

lots of 30-40 year old people on this thread still in their basements drawing unemployment checks.
