Iran threatens to boycott Olympics over logo

If you like Judo, Wrestling or Weightlifting then you'd probably want to see the Iranians in there mixing it up. These athletes aren't the mad mullahs, these are just as much the regular guys that want their women to be allowed to walk around uncovered and to party and live like we do. It's fucked for the average Ahmed in the street over there.

Yeah the logo looks rubbish, there was disquiet when it came out with everyone calling it a load of shit. I'd have preferred the Goatse 2012 logo that the BBC showed on the London News

God darn it when I first saw this, I thought it was because parents were seeing some one giving a BJ. My bad..

Most worst logo i have ever seen.. totally rubbish. My five year old can do better than that !! I go with Iran's boycott.

it's amazing they can see Zion in that logo, talk about going out of their way to create a reason not to go. I guess they're scared they can't compete against the rest of the world, so they figure going yeller is better ;)

It's obvious why Iran objects to this logo... the Zion shit is just an excuse, because the logo is fucking awful and hideous! No wonder they want it changed. It is designed to offend across all cultures and ethnicities.

That logo is so fucking shit... everybody hates it (it took a year to design and it cost us £400k!)

The BBC ran a competition to find a replacement... BBC NEWS | In Pictures | Your alternative Olympic logos

Logo number 12 is pure jokes.

Lol.... ALL of those are actually better than the original. :D

Fuck Iran and the middle east. They are getting all the attention, no offense to anyone here.

The logo was very trendy in London when it was first designed, and I can totally see their thinking...if it was a logo for a club night or something. Everyone who was cool was wearing neon colours and sharp angles. Of course there was a massive backlash against it, because 99.999% of the population aren't cool young urbanites, and didn't know or care about what was cool. Even the people who would have thought it was cool had no interest in sports or athletics at all.

Of course, fashion changes, and now just a few years later the logo looks exceptionally dated. I dunno how a design agency getting paid £400k could be so shortsighted about that, even if they were foolishly aiming it at themselves and their trendy East London peers.
