Who said? Speculators, or Apple?

I'm not sure Apple ever announced that it would be a "budget" phone. Although based on carrier prices, $99/$199 is pretty enticing so it'll still compete for the price conscience. I think the real backlash is from the people that don't think $100 is big enough of a difference between C and S models. Don't like it? Get a fucking 5S.
 
There is some "law" where tech doubles every 7 years, something like that. So yeah in 20 years we will have gone through 3 doubles about.

Should be able to 3d print off your phone by then.

The Play store is a far more cleaner UX. The whole itunes/apple store is such a clusterfuck to use regularly. Additionally, I can't find 1 app that I give a fuck about that isn't on the Play store.

Switching from iPhone to an S4 was like passing a huge shit from a Mexican all you can eat buffet. Feels good man.
 
I've had the iPhone and currently have the s5. I could care less about the tech bullshit. I just want a keyboard that doesn't fuck up with my fat fingers, and videos that looks great when I bang my wife. To me, this is why I want my iPhone back.

Wall Street expected the 5C to be a budget phone for emerging markets in Asia, where carrier subsidies don't exist. It's not $99 there, it's still the equivalent of several hundred dollars. Compare the non-subsidized cost of the iPhone 5C to the Nexus 4, which is only $249 unlocked, and you can see why investors aren't happy.

Yeah, and they where wrong. It would seem to me, that it would hurt the Apple brand more if it was a true "budget phone" off contract. Apple never has been, and doesn't seem like any time in the future will be that kind of brand.

If this doesn't reinforce that I don't know what will.

Apple has been doing a lot of buying back this year, and it would seem to me maybe they don't care about being public anymore. They have tons of cash on hand, so they could probably care less about their stock price, which has been going down for a while. Haters, going to hate.
