Invitation: Wicked Fire Happy Hour at Boston Seaport Hotel for Affiliate Summit

Hey Everyone

I wanted to invite all you Wicked Fire Members to a happy hour on Monday August 11th at 4pm at the Seaport Hotel Bar. Friends, competitors, anyone who hangs out at wicked fire, likes to drink and wants to network is invited. FIRST ROUND ON MY COMPANY! Any other big networks wanna offer second round?

I will be there (affiliate manager) with Maria, our Advertising Acccount Manager, and Geni, our internal list mailer. All affiliate marketing bases covered, (along w. first round)

We hope to meet you all. If you can shoot me and IM, PM or even reply to this post and let me know if you plan on coming that would be great. Of course feel free to show just show up as well. I will try and reserve a spot in the bar based on response.

Not when someone wants my business, no, I don't afford my own drinks. I have a scooter in my garage that's been sitting there for 3 months because a vendor wanted my business. One day the thing just showed up with a note and a gift card to a nice restaurant in town and said "think of us when it's time".

I did think of them. That's how these things work! Someone too cheap to buy dinner, including drinks, can fuck themselves. Elitist, yes, but I've dealt with so many companies over the years and they all fit into 2 categories:
1. They wine/dine you and give you terrific support
or
2. They cheap out in the beginning, nickle and dime you for everything, and close their doors after 24 months.
 
Honestly it sounds like she may be setting this up without the companies direct involvement. She probably didn't want to pay for anything more than first round because she's not sure how many will show up.

I'd give it to her, she's actually being a go-getter of an affiliate manager ... trying to meet with us but obviously also to recruit new affiliates who would earn her commission. I won't be there, but I'd give her a chance and see what she's all about.

Are you going to Aff Summit or do you just like to complain?

Way to take a nice thought and cheapen it. I told the people from our network going to Aff Summit to see if they wanted to organize an impromptu meetup for WF people, after people on the Aff Summit thread said they wanted to meet up and say hi.

No one is trying to impress or woo anyone. This isn't our aff network's event. This is just the chance for you to meet other WF people who want to show up since it didn't seem to be coordinated. So try not to read anything into it.

As for wining and dining people, you obviously haven't been to some of our previous official parties or out with me. Let's just say while I can't guarantee you had a good time, I can guarantee you had a massive hangover.

I think BBWolfe is really caught up on the drink thing. I'm guessing that LK just was using the expression first rounds on me more than any worry about how many would show up or not.

In any case, I think she is bringing Maria and Geni along so all the bases are covered. You can talk to an aff manager/an account manager/or a traffic source. Mostly I think it is to make sure there are any women along. :)

Is there anyone in WF who is a female or are we just a bunch of guys talking among ourselves?

I think we have 2 or 3 legit, then a fake one or two.
Then some AMs that are females and read but don't post
