Invest in Africa, boys!

ROFL, the gall of you idiots to think you know more than a person who has lived and visited there for some time. My family has a LOT of money invested in real estate there for a good fucking reason - property values have doubled in the last 3-5 years and the political climate is fairly stable.

I've been in Africa too, no worries. But ignore the facts and keep investing! Maybe you should invest in the aria of Somalia as well - heard boat trips are killing it there!

Gay webmasters should invest in penis, and disregard everything else.

From $2000 to $4000?

by the time we are all dead, the countries with water that are able to grow crops and sustain animal life the longest/best will be the ones where you want to live, that is unless you wana pay $500 for a hamburger

Not to mention that when kenya and other countries rise up into 1st/2nd world nations (and they will, not in our lifetime but it will happen because Africa has some of the most fertile producing grounds in the world), all the investments there will be worth millions. It'll be too late then. I'll put my bets there. All that's lacking is proper leadership that isn't very corrupt. Look at the changes in GDP - it's already growing at an average of 4-10% per year. Are you wondering why China is increasing trade with the continent?

I have only been to Nairobi five times on biz, for stays of 1 or 2 weeks, and I can say without hesitation that it is an utter shit-pit and I don't care how cheap stuff is fuck going back out there ever again. Vile, hideous place (unless you like 16 year old AIDs infected hookers of course) full of useless people.

You are all fools for believing everything the media tells you about the continent Africa. This is Nairobi, one of my favorite places in the world:

I have a lot more photos from when I visited. Sure a ton of places are impoverished too in Kenya, but generally it's a very beautiful place with friendly locals. This is mombasa:

It's still relatively affordable to buy land there. It's also a politically stable country. If you're going to show the worst, show the best as well. Not to mention a ton of very beautiful black girls there (if that's your thing).

Are you the Kenyan tourism minister or something? It is far from stable and is regularly about to burst into total machete wielding chaos. Why do you think white people live in homes surrounded by high barbed wire fences, have a team of security and fucking killer dogs roaming about?

And Mombassa ... it's ok at the beach but have you been to the old town near Port Jesus? Fucking mini-Somalia !

I found Rwanda far more peaceful and maybe also Uganda. Tanzania was shit.

Africa ... just stay away and send someone else in there to do the work.

Pewep please comment on this:

Politically stable while facing a 40% unemployement rate.

Everybody who's been in Africa will tell you the same story. You simply cannot do business there longterm if relying on locals.

Wrong audience. WFs don't invest in countries or continents, they go where the investiment is, grab the monies and run. The whole thing starts by using GWT.

That slum is called Kibera, and it's about 1 million people deep. Most of Africa is like that, not like those nice pics of Nairobi. And even in Nairobi, there are tons of street kids, gangs, diseases, crime, etc.

Yeah, Kenya is a great place to visit. But I wouldn't move there or expect it to remain stable.

Seems stable enough for pewep, I bet they also have high speed internet access there too.

Some of you guys are being too short-sighted.

The BRICS are not dumb. If they are massively investing in there, it's because there is money to be made.

Africa has some of the top oil producing countries so there IS money. If you set up a web marketing firm in Nairobi, chances are you will make a lot of money if you play your cards right and target big firms and gov websites.

Of course it's not easy and there is corruption, but the trick is to hire an experienced local as a CEO (preferably somebody educated in the west) and let him handle all the paperwork and relationship with government officials. Just like in China. All the expats I met in China that started businesses had to hire a Chinese CEO to make it work. They all struggled to get it started but now they're all balling...

They do actually. I'm not even going to bother dignifying most of these comments with a response.

Judging from the scandals I have seen in the media, the easiest way to get rich in Africa is to swindle foreign aid monet via fake local companies.

Sarcasm aside, it's quite obvious to me that the new growth zone is going to be Africa. The chinese have it right though, as they're not approaching Africa from a white-mans-guilt perspective. They are bringing infrastructure and their own rules, instead of thinking that Africa will solve it's own problems. Not having that colonial baggage allows them to do things right.

I wonder when they are going to figure out the whole "don't shit in the water you have to drink" theory
