Boss told me to get off my ass and learn some SEO from the ground up. After I bought an e-book he made me delete it and sign up here. I have been doing some form of internet marketing/retail for the past 5 years and currently buying media on cpc and cpm so I am not a total noob but as you will see from some of my search marketing questions I am totally new to that space.

I vow not to be a total tool or bitch.

Hi, I'm Gary, and just trying to figure out what I want to do to make money. I've been through 3 years of college, and through about 2 majors and nothing just seems to fit with me. I really enjoy anything to do with the internet and computers and for some reason just love the idea of advertising and marketing. I would go back to school for it, but school just seems like a waste of money right now, so I'm looking for alternative methods to learn skills for the time being. This site has been helpful in getting me started so far just by reading. I usually just sit back and read, but if I have any questions that aren't getting answered by the search function or reading, then I'll ask. Thanks for the place to learn! Hope everyone the best...

I've been properly roasted for not using this thread so I thought I'd follow up and post here.

I'm a guy from the midwest US (WI), 35- married - 1 daughter. I'm currently an owner (33%) of a small consulting company (20 people) and I travel constantly. I'm ready to be done with that but that means moving on out of the company.

Consequently I've investigated a number of options and AM seems like a very valid route to try - I am lucky enough to have some resources to try a few things and I've been doing so as I learn - no success yet.

I have only been a true webmaster type for a year or so. I did spend the better part of the last decade working with Fortune 100 companies designing and building international business systems that were web enabled so I'm not really worried about any of the technology stuff.
