How do you inspire your visitors to contribute to your site & interact ?!

I've started implementing polls and "add your comment" boxes to my content sites and also plan to have monthyl/weekly themes, with articles which visitors could discuss and add related tips...

I throw in a little "troll" article or post once in a while to get the conversation and drama flowing. There's a right way and wrong way to do this, of course
