I carefully performed searches and read through a lot of posts before asking this. I am getting a little confused on why my Google inbound link count is floating up and down daily.

Its a pretty new blog, only about four months old and has limited incoming links...but they float up and down daily. The links that disappear come back within days, but why the flux? I thought that incoming link calculation was done by Google every few month, not daily.

I have noticed that my Google search traffic moves in direct proportion to my links (obvious SEO)...so am I going to be dealing with this daily fluctuation when my incoming links number in the tens of thousands?

Thanks for your time.

I wouldn't worry about it. I have had fluctuations for years. It could be fines like sites going down when they get crawled, sites closing, sites having a few problems while getting crawled, new backlinks, etc.

Also, the main thing is that Google doesn't include all of your sites backlinks when you use: link:domainname.com. It only counts a certain amount of them.

Google has a shitload of datacenters and each one can have different links, serps etc... You are probably just hitting different data centers.

try using linkdomain:yoururl.com on yahoo to see more of your links.
