Anyone who says with any certainty what they would do upon being given a cancer diagnosis is full of shit.
 
It would depend on the type and stage of cancer before I could say what I'd do.

If it were a) painful and b) high morbidity, I'd probably start looking for some heroin and take it all at once at the point where I can no longer wipe my own ass.

Otherwise I'd look for the top specialist with the most experience with the type of cancer and do whatever they say.

I had a $77.5k craniectomy and microvascular decompression of the 5th cranial nerve. I thought a lot about life before going for it. Shitty it only helped for 8 weeks.

My kid brother- tumor on his tongue, metastasized into his brain, surgery, chemo, radiation, more surgery, chemo, totally conventional, oncologists heaven.

Dead in 16 months.

My Mother-in-law: Breast cancer, radiation, chemo, radical mast, more chemo, totally conventional, insane monies spent...

Dead in 18 months.

My Mother: Registered Nurse, Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma, 100% self-educated, did all alt therapies, dope from Mexico, shark cartilage, oxy therapy, lived with a coffee maker in her bathroom for black coffee enemas.

Lived a pretty good life for over 13 YEARS after the "Pros" gave her 12-18 months to live. And on her deathbed, the quack motherfuckers convinced my poor old man to try some last-ditch Chemo that they knew GODDAM WELL would have zero impact at that stage, but they stuck them in her and billed him RIGHT INTO BANKRUPTCY anyways.

Me? TC in 2001- Caught it fucking EARLY (which is the trick, bros)... They took one of my nuts off, and no matter HOW hard they tried to bully me into it, I opted for ZERO radiation, ZERO chemo, and just have a CT scan once a year (called surveillance).

13 YEARS Cancer free.

Make of that what you will, but all of you self-absorbed fucktard "experts"...

I am sorry for your troubles, but you are wrongly assigning cause and effect. Plus anecdotal evidence is totally unreliable and should not be considered as evidence at all.

The only "fucktard experts" are the ones talking about alternative therapy. All of the sane people are saying that cancer treatment should be left to REAL experts and not sofa dwelling "researchers".

Can chemo kill you? Well of course it can it's poison. Especially when you are in a fragile state already. But the real question is will it increase you chance of survival and the answer is (obviously) yes.
 
It is so unbelievable some of you actually defend the massive profits companies make off something so terrible as cancer. Maybe you guys are paid off to say it though..

But companies and science and medicine is made up of people.

People who had friends and family be ill or die from cancer.

You really believe they put on their lab coat, exchange some deep conspiracy handshakes, and try NOT to cure cancer?

Do you somehow profit from the pharmaceutical industry?

Yes I do believe they try to only suppress symptoms and have a nice recurring customer. The profit is in treating the symptoms, not the cure.
 
I wish the global patenting regime was discontinued for things such as pharmaceuticals so as to relieve some of the pain people have to go through
