I get ideas all the time; often they are crap, but I have a diary that I use to record them all, flesh them out a bit and then either forget and move on or come back to later.

This works for site ideas, domain ideas, content/article ideas.

If is haphazard though. Are there any better solutions that people use?

Paper and pencil still work best for me. It's hard to find a computer program that will allow you to make sketches or simple drawings as easily.

I end up just writing myself an email to my gmail account. Then later I use the search feature. Not the best method as sometimes older ideas get forgotten about.

I use MS OneNote.

You can do some basic drawing in it (ie MS Paint).

You can organize your "Notebook" with as many tabs as you want then as many pages in each tab as you want.

It's very free form, nothing restrictive about entering text. Just click in the window and type anywhere.

What I like to do is make a simple To Do list, then there is a handy "make check list" feature, so I can then check off those line items when I need to.

I'm using notepad, but am really close to writing a simple program that would let me organize them properly and deal with a number of annoying issues. For example, when I have a bunch of links that are related to my idea and list them all together with descriptions of what's behind them, it just gets too messy in notepad.

I write down my random ideas on whatever piece of paper i have in front of me. I also doodle on whatever piece of paper I have in front of me while thinking. My "note"book is quite an unorginized mess.

Maybe you could share that program when you have it finished to help out a fellow Notepad user.

I fiirst wanted to say "no problem", but seeing as how you're breathing down my neck with your crazy post count, I'll have to think twice 'bout it...;)

Im sure there woul be a demand for it, given there is nothing really out there that does the job

Oh, so now let me guess, you'll sell it to me for only $97, but only after I read an eleven page sales letter. lol

If you could just provide a few testimonials that would be great. Oh, and if it also comes with a no questions asked 90 day money-back guarantee, then I am sold.
