I haven't played a video game in years, literally. I think Soul Calibur for the Dreamcast was the last thing I played. After my house got broken into and my Dreamcast was stolen, I gave up on buying anything new.

But now, with the start of ZenSix, I find myself sitting around for hours at a time watching tv and being bored off my ass waiting for the next ticket to come in. So... I need something to do...

I'm thinking Xbox 360, but I'm not sure yet. Maybe a PS3? Hell, I need some recommendations. So how about I give you some games I've liked in the past and you tell me what console to get?

Soul Calibur, Marvel vs. Capcom, Mario (any of them), Zelda, Golden Eye, anything where I get to fly a jet, Madden, Tiger Woods, Medal of Honor, Syphon Filter, Tony Hawk, Alice... (I watched my brother play a lot of Portal and it looked good)...

I don't play video games but I've heard from basically everyone I have talked to that the PS3 is much better, even from people who have both. I'd go with that, pretty sure it has a bigger game selection then XBOX too but, idk.

I'm going to have to disagree with CShoe, not because I have both, but along the same lines as him, I have talked to people with both and have heard PS3 isn't quite up to par yet. Not in terms of technology, just in terms of games and enjoyment.

I think if you lined up 100 people who had both consoles you would get a different answer from each one of them on which one they enjoy, so it really is hard to call. I would see if you have any friends who have them and try them out if possible.

I have 360, Wii, and NDS. I know when I had xbox live I had a blast playing online. Didn't feel like subscribing after my free trial though because I knew I would waste away my days with it. I rarely play my Wii, just hasn't interested me lately. And I recently got back in to my NDS, mainly due to buying an M3 DS Real.

Nintendo DS + M3 DS Real + MicroSD card = Never buy a DS game again (not that I condone piracy :) ). Not to mention, there are some pretty sweet homebrew games out too.

As someone who has owned a Wii for more than a year, I'd strongly suggest that you get a 360. The Wii has about 5 real games and the rest are gimmicks and remakes.

The 360 has a solid library with great online features. The PS3 only has one game.

Xbox 360: Gears of War & Gears of War II (releases in November, I believe) is bad ass IMO.

Also, playing Halo online is a lot of fun and it passes the time. :D

I wasn't really a big fan of the Wii. Although, I played the new StarWars game and it was tight.

Okay, I'm going with the 360, but I have a quick question.

What's the difference between the 360 arcade edition and the regular 360? Just the hard drive?

A store by my house has the arcade edition for $179 and the regular for $289...

My friend got a x360 (with two controllers) for $150 from a pawnshop. Maybe you should check that out first, if you don't want to spend nearly $300.00.

Get the regular. You need a hard drive. If you ever want to download more than three games, you're going to need the hard drive.

(Downloadable games are good. Go look up Geometry Wars.)

I think I'll be getting a 360 soon as well. Get the one with AT LEAST a 20 gb harddrive, I think they've just recently dropped in price.
