From your yahoo thread:

i admit its pathetic and uncreative.

its agaisnt yahoos ToS

but its not a scam. its all legit offers.
im a newb @ this AM scene and im broke. i want to build some capital to test some ads for real.

besides, if they actually do complete the email submit, zip submit etc, then the leads are legit? so my network probably wouldnt care?

I sat around doing fuck all for ages because I was scared and built a scarcity mentality around money for myself and was afraid to spend money from my pocket as I couldn't see the potential in it. The thing is, as soon as you start taking some action you realise that you absolutely HAVE to buy data to start and that you learn so, so much just by getting started and doing SOMETHING. Remember - 99% of the people on the Internet are likely making 1% of the money. As soon as you start making campaigns and stop reading you go from being in spectator mode (watching everyone else get rich), to PLAYER MODE which is where the learning and magic happens.

Here's some random generic advice:

1. Set up and learn Prosper and track everything to keyword level. EVERYTHING. Don't even start until you have set it up so that you know which keywords convert and which don't. It's free. Hosting is cheap. There is no excuse. This was a game changer for me.

2. Start with campaigns with a lower payout as they'll allow you to get a rounded idea of the testing/optimisation process without having to spend a fortune. Games, dating or email/zip submits can be good.

3. Set your campaign up and DON'T TOUCH IT for the first 24 hours. Just let data flood in and make some changes based on that. Don't micro-manage everything to fuck and pause a keyword after one click because you get scared. Just set an acceptable overall daily budget for the campaign.

4. Find out what offers are hot on the networks and push them. Some offers plain suck. EWA are good for sending out emails for this so if you're not a member already sign up to them. Their affiliate managers will also help you get rolling. Mine is Jared he's awesome.

5. Pick a traffic source and stick with it. There's a tendancy to try and learn everything and want to experiment but that just adds another variable to your noob career. Pick somewhere (Facebook, MSN, Media Traffic, Plenty Of Fish etc) and stick with it until you learn how to get something profitable there. My first big 'lightbulb' moments were on Trafficvance.

Good luck in your mission sir!

This goes for all forms of paid traffic regardless of platform (although obviously your 300 dollars won't fly in media buys so mainly apply this to search and social). Set about 300 bucks aside that you're willing to lose and think of it as an experiential learning course in PPC. Don't even worry about making money, although it's possible you will, and just spend 300 testing and putting in the grunt work of making ads and testing new offers. 300 dollars is small potatoes and if you aren't fine with losing it then you won't go far. Now I'm not saying that everyone always has to lose money with PPC before they find a profitable campaign (although I would greatly assume the vast majority have), it's just that when you're fine with losing money and don't care so much about the results initially you will get into the mindset of constant testing and optimization a bit better if you aren't so wary and fearful of losing. Anyways, the obvious logic is that even if you lose 500 testing tons of failures if you find the one great offer out of the 30 different offers you've tested you can potentially make back all 500 in one day right off the bat.

ROFL AYZO U MAD? PPL LEARN SHIT IN 2 MONTHS BRO

I don't know man, those 2 posts were pretty stupid. Even if that was the peak of your intelligence 2 months ago I think it would take a little longer than 2 months to get your IQ past room temperature.

I like this post

ElectronicPunks posts are probably some of the best ones recently in this forum. When I first got into AM, I was scatterbrained, reading too much, talking to people and not *doing*. After talking with SEO_Mike for a while I got to testing and was real scattered, but eventually focused heavily on just one source, and one offer. It worked out great, I was stunned. Experience was a good teacher, and I made some money. I was amazed, and kept at it.

All I have is 5 adwords vouchers and 3 Facebook vouchers. I know I will eventually have to grow some balls and get over my phobia as well as lose some money. But that's hard to swallow when your funds are limited such as I. I'm interested to know how many of you guys started PPC with chump change and actually started making a nice income within a couple months? Any good advice is more than welcome.

Go for it, losing money is the price of your education. It may have a better ROR than University as well.

I didn't spend money for 7 years. I was afraid to lose it. So what I did was I deposited $100. I figured it was worth the risk... that $100 turned into a lot more real fast and I knew I had something. The last 8 months have been INCREDIBLE for me all over my first deposit.

I wish I had started earlier, I really do. All I can say is get over that fear and try it.

dude just jump in.. how else are u gonna learn to swim? I started my first campaign with like $500 in my adwords account, luckily for me after about a $10 spend i'd made $35.. and it kinda just kept converting that way. not gonna lie, i was surprised.. I was like "HUH?" it cant be that easy.. well, sometimes it is (just make sure your LP doesnt suck, and you are tracking your kw's). So think about it, you may lose the $100, but if your campaign IS GOOD, you may be spending $10 for every $20 you make.. but you'll never know if you dont try right?

Think about how many times that $100 investment will pay itself off if you get a solid campaign going.

Save up, do your research, have everything set up, and let it rip when you can spend $60-$100 daily

I spent a lot of money at the beginning. I don't consider it wasted money. It is buying information, like was said earlier in the thread.

ppc is all about Tracking, you MUST track every keyword. When you do get a sale you must know the keyword it came from and you must also know the words that are not making money, so you can remove them.
